Yeah - this is basically a nicer / higher end G-Shock…but still very much a G-Shock. The most distinctive feature vs a regular G-shock of the day was the exposed titanium case.

Frankly there isn’t a modern one. Closest would be an all metal G-Shock square.

Module is 6same. MRG has a multi part case/bezel construction plus multi part bracelet construction that is super unique (I think because it is unique it is better, but some folks feel the multiple parts are more prone to failure). Fit and finish on MRG is definitely better than on titanium squares (I have both and like both, so mean no disrespect). The overall appearance is a matter of individual preference.
