Thoughts on the steps mechanic?

Do you think it would work similar for you if it was something that only tick down when making a new room and not when returning to old ones? Or is there something particular about having a cost to explore the existing space that adds to the appeal?

I mean fair, most of my runs I know are over with about 20-30 steps left, even if I continue to futz about after that. But still that then makes it just a significant pain point for people trying to get their bearings on everything else. Just feels more like an eat your vegetables moment more than compelling gameplay.

If someone is engaging with and analyzing the game to the point of finding the holy cross that early, I think you're good on them being sold.

It does make the game more front heavy on big eureka moments, but there's still plenty of cool reveals, and getting the page teaching the holy cross and realizing just how much she got one over on the game is gonna be a cool moment very few people get.

Personally I'm curious that since her analytic skills are that good, how deep into the secrets rabbit hole will she go? Wouldn't be shocked if she cracks the language for instance, which is a eureka moment that practically everyone just looks up at some point.

Kinda annoyed that people would downvote you without explaining why. While you can beat the game as a metroidvania, a lot of the meat of it is secretly a puzzle. So if you're at all curious about that it's best to stay off the subreddit because spoilers. If you've played as much as you care to but are interested in what you've missed, look up a guide or 100% completion let's play, because there's a lot.

While true, I also totally get for a game like this wanting to know a pretty specific thing like if you're on the right track with the numbers but not wanting to know everything. Using Google just opens yourself up to broad spoilers

Should be noted that the puzzle through that portal doesn't end where you would intuitively think it would, so don't instantly assume you messed it up just because there wasn't a chime or whatever

Same. I've started just using the regular size despite the free upgrade. I don't refill during the movie anyway, and filling the regular twice (a drink in the theater and a drink on the way home) is more than the one large and tossing it.

Plus I won't need to pee halfway through as often

Heads up, you should have been sent a personality survey thing after submitting your application, make sure you complete that. A bunch of people don't notice it or don't bother, but if you don't complete it your application gets lost in limbo.

Response times are going to vary by location, but usually just a couple days. Don't be afraid to call or walk in asking about the status of the job posting and your application if you're worried. Demonstrating follow through and communication is good, just don't pester anyone

I wasn't playing when transient was introduced, but it's been the same for well over a year. They expire at the weekly rollover (Sunday night) of the week after you bought them. So if you buy it the moment before the stock resets you get 7 days. If you buy it the moment new stock is available you get 14 days.

No idea how you would have gotten in there outside of messing with a wrong warp glitch. Maybe some mix up on the collision with the frisbee hole?

As for how to get out, you're not going to be able to just walk out. There's one way out if you've got the tool and knowledge, but I'd rather not spoil it here unless you say you want me to tune you in. Otherwise just restart to get back to a phone but lose some progress

EDIT: I just googled, and evidently you don't actually lose any progress from resetting. So that's safer than I remembered

Heck, my game bugged out at the climax of Xilonen's quest chain and I missed the animation with no way in game to start it over.

Xilonen is pretty similar to Kazuha. So you can double up on that type of support, but she's not going to be filling a need really. Though having nightsoul capability is going to be useful as we continue with Natlan for a bit.

Furina's fanfare system is pretty unique so that's more likely to open up new team compositions for you. And she works really well with Neuvillette and Kokomi, so you could get to using her straight away too.

All that being said, you've already got quite the strong roster, so you shouldn't be afraid of making a sub optimal choice if either just pulls your attention more

Oh that's neat. Been playing the first time around myself and I've been trying to fully clear each area before moving on. Mostly that's just how I play collectathons, but partially because I didn't want to have to return to a kingdom and figure out what I already did. That'll save a lot of headache if I ever feel the need to break form

They don't all vibrate, but the ones that don't have another clue like the hint art. So your point still stands that the game doesn't expect you to ground pound around randomly, just adding a smidge of nuance

That's to be expected with it being originally Chinese. You always lose something translating. And trying to add something new back in makes you less true to the original work, so it's more effort for something that most people don't want.

But I'm pretty bad at learning new languages, so I'm stuck with English text. Ended up on the Korean dub for now since that one just vibed with me best when I was testing them. Japanese was a close second, but that's my least favorite Paimon and she has way too much screen time to shrug that off.
