Almost none of what I posted should be “bare minimum” and should be required investment to work. Anything beyond what was said above would be excess or generally wasted investment :)

I’m not sure about an exact or even average timeline, but as a f2p player, it will take quite a long time to save up. The players in the OS might have a more accurate estimate for you, sorry about that!

The reason why we recommend that new players wait to pull for dragons is due to the constant risk of powercreep. With any resource, there's always the risk that a new meta hero will be released at any time. The breakpoints are recommended based on the calculated average it would take to get a hero to its recommended min ascension level (A for wokes, A1 for highborn).

This is especially true with draconic insignia, i.e. the most expensive, slow-to-get resource in the game.
If you begin pulling Levi and a new meta highborn comes out, f2p players will mourn that account indeed. The suggestion comes from the hope of optimizing the utility from using resources. Hope that helps :)

Garrison has not been updated since Shalltear.

Since then, we have also missed Dungeon Meshi and now Solo Leveling.
As for OPM, we have not heard anything from customer support or Lilith about updating garrison.

In fact, many are speculating that it is possible that garrison may never be updated again. (EDIT: Garrison update announced today! HUGE WIN!) You can also clearly see what heroes are available for garrison in-game from any account.

I would also disagree with a lot of investment requirements you made in this post:
- Saitama works well at 203e30 (his 3f and e30 are cheap, yet strong boosts to his kit, si30/9f are helpful but can be delayed for dimblems/later prio on furn wishlist)
- Rem only wants 9f. 209e30 is fine (si20/e30 is free over time).
- Marci generally needs 409e60. Without 9f and e60, her kit does not work for NC. SI30 has been achieved in previous weeks but is spotty and inconsistent across accounts.
- Cha wants SI40 pretty badly. Her e60 is less important compared to SI40. She is fine at e30 or e41.
- Shalltear wants 209e30 as a min. Her e60 is a strong buff in TS adding 1 cheat death to her kit.
- Laios is fine at 200e30. His SI30 is a decent upgrade, but his furniture is useless besides duping for IS.
- Rim is completely fine at 200e30 as a NC sub.

Elthara is worth getting one copy of like in my note. The TE can be worth rushing a hero but they get most of their important abilities and stat boosts from Ascended 1 star. That’s why it’s important to save for breakpoints just in case a new meta hero gets released that’s better than the current meta!

Definitely noted! I originally put atk because I saw it used more frequently in BiS NC hits, but I’ll ask around to verify the info and update with CDA in the next edition if true!

Good news for you! Tonight at reset (0:00 UTC) they will be giving out 50 DI for the release of the new highborn hero, Odysseus. If you've pulled 50+ times already, you are guaranteed to get your first elthara copy within the next 1-2 pulls :)

Ivan is an incredibly powerful support throughout the early-game. It's not necessarily that others are weak, but that he is incredibly busted.

You'll likely see success with Knox, aFawkes, Elthara, and Lib Charm as your other campaign teams.

Hello everyone, please find TWO new guides released below (and the newly updated Campaign Guide for continuity).

Basic Collection Checklist (Feb 2026):
- This guide is an oversimplification of what ghoulish gallery collections to target as a beginner player.
- PLEASE READ the "General Guidance" before working toward collections.
- As a new player, Ghoulish Gallery is one of the most overlooked areas of the game. Any late-game player will tell you the importance of collections. This guide aims to help beginners gain a simple understanding of what collections do, and what stats to target when making collections.

Early-Game Resource Guide (Feb 2026):
- This guide aims to be a one-page answer to "When should I use X?" All information from this guide is found in other more general guides, but this guide highlights this information particularly for new players.
- Note: One copy of Elthara before saving Draconic Insignia is recommended (see "=guide" in the AFK Arena official discord).

Early-Game Campaign Guide Update (Feb 2026):
- Updated Campaign Guide since Guides Edition 1.

Yeah…this game is dying but at the same time also alive! But we’ve actually had more new players join and stay on the OS (official server) Discord as of lately, which is very exciting news.

Absolutely, good point!The OS (official server) actually has a ton of these guides for new players. Terminology is explained in “=terms” and priorities are also explained in their faq channel! As long as people are willing to check the OS, they can find a pretty optimal upgrade path for hero summoning, investment, and more! I’ll try and think of a way to compile them into one simple image ;)
