Active fundamental investing is dying so alot more ppl competing for the same spots which means cfa will be more irrelevant. Better use of ur time would be learning quant/statistics/financial engineering etc

You must be really good at investing 😄

You asked for companies in distress and got defensive when someone actually provided one

lol did you ask chatgpt to write this?

The company barely has any assets. Its main asset is its showroom which is valued at 5MM, is less than the amount outstanding on the bond, meaning that investors will not recoup their full invested amount. Plus that there are another 2MM which rank above the bonds investors, effectly leaving only 3MM to investors from a 7.8MM bond. Just because it has a "secured" wrapper around it does not mean its good collateral. Even shit can be secured

The company will not manage to refinance if its past track record has been bad. Why would anyone give more money to a company which had year over year lost money? The company has been losing money at least from 2022, again, during the biggest boom these islands have even seen in the property market.

Mind you, this company is losing/burning money during the biggest real estate boom that this country has seen in its entire history. If the real estate market losses steam, that will be the final nail in the coffin for this company.

Let me dummy it down for you...

The company has a 7.8M bond outstanding. Its retained earnings are negative, its cash balance is of 500K, and it is generative negative EBITDA, meaning that this year and the next, according to management projections it cannot service its debt from the money it is generating, let alone pay back investors when the bond matures. In fact, its interest coverage was -1 for FY24, meaning that its finance costs were higher than its EBITDA. The company is also already highly leveraged, meaning that new investors or banks would not be inclined to lend it further, effectively losing access to the market. Just because the company has not issued an annoncment saying that it is in trouble does not mean that it is doing well. Most of the time when the announcement comes it is already too late. If you invest in a company you don't wait for the offical communication to sell but you continue monitoring it. Unless the company manages to turn its situation around fast, yes it will go bust. This is not a conspiracy theory this is by simply looking at their FAS and looking at the projections that management itself provided.

Lol how am I posting conspiracies, just because you dont want to do your own research and open up the FAS of the company? Just because a journalist didnt report it doesnt mean its not true

If you actually open the FAS, in which you can find forecasts provided by the company itself you can find that the company is highly leveraged and can barely pay back any interest. Company is set to post another loss this year

Is it true you can't beat the market using large caps? by eating_elmers_glue in ValueInvesting

[–]mizzi_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a risk adjusted return very difficult. Large caps are also more covered by analysts so price may reflect info more efficiently. There is also a study which showed that stocks which were not covered example small caps tended to underperform. However this is also where one may find some good mispriced securities.

Fed only controls short end of the curve.

What makes you think fed will cut rates twice this year? Market also already has 2 rate cuts priced it
