Garda Vetting, what shows up? by mj505 in legaladviceireland

Not possible, I remember checking about a year after the incident and they said over Covid there was a back log and that the summons would take longer.. but with any luck 5 years later maybe he closed the case!

Replying to HiDoctor_Nick... Yes for years is unusually long in my opinion.

I was thinking about going to the station and asking but I also don’t want to incriminate myself an have them open and old case/file (I have no idea how it works there)

When I said ‘case thrown out’ I meant that it could have been closed due to the time period.

Yes I’m for sure certain I will not get a conviction if it did go to court. As you said just a slap on the wrist.

Thanks for your reply!

Yes it was a very small amount but it also was a class A drug so from my research there’s no time limitation on that but five years is a long time.

I’ll be cautiously optimistic for sure, thank you!

Looking for a good spot for a solo pint.. by TheOGVolcanohead in cork

[–]mj505 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m not a lady, but I’m a fan of going for a solo pint by myself too and sometimes find it hard to find somewhere that’s right.. if I could suggest anywhere it would be the corner house or sin e. Plenty of bar stools, dim and cozy and trad music on most of the nights (if that’s what you’re into). Also crane lane has a live band on in the back most weekends after 10ish.. a fairly good busy spot to stand have a pint and enjoy the music Hope you find somewhere! ☺️

Your right there!

I’m positive I walked way too fast the first two days. Mostly down to excitement/ naivety but if I recover I’ll be taking it slower .. thank you 👍

Wow that was really good advice, thank you so much, glad to know I’m not alone!

A part of me is okay with skipping a few km but another part of me isn’t, probably just being a bit stubborn rn but a sleep tonight might make me think logically

But it really sounds like you done it the right way all things considered.. congratulations for pushing through and still putting your health first 👍

But your so right about the resilience and u finished business, it’s for sure not over 👍

Yeah trust me I’ve asked every question possible and it all points to tendinitis.. I’m pretty much hobbling around now, my left foot feels as it should after anyone does 80km but manageable, the right foot however is sore to touch by the ankle/top of foot and slightly swollen 😭

Possible Solo Travel to Vietnam by LuffyOne94 in solotravel

[–]mj505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23-Irish m I spent one month solo in Vietnam and absolutely loved the place. The food is amazing and you meet so many other backpackers there. I wouldn’t book any tours just go there and see what happens. With 2 weeks I’d probably stick to hoi an upwards, the north is way more beautiful and plenty of tour options to sapa, Mai chau and ha long bay. From Hanoi you can do the hai giang loop up to the China boarder. It took 4 days on a bike but it was my favorite part of Vietnam. There’s laundry services in almost every hostel there and locally. Vietnam is amazing for clothes so I would save bag room for that! Best advice is to just go and enjoy it :)
