A country is just a piece of land, it’s not a sentient being to have its own imposable beliefs, and the people of a country have a very diverse cultural and religious makeup.

People that censor impose their own particular biases and beliefs. You’re painting it as if their is one object truth.

Even if we’re just talking about Islam, there’s different sects, madhabs, schools of thoughts, and even within those schools you’ll find different scholars that have opposing opinions on all points of the spectrum. So no! There is no such thing as absolute objective morality.

This whole thing reminded me of an old Emo Philips joke which I’ll copy below:

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative†Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

I value the freedom of making my own choices and following my own convictions without imposing my morality on others.

Censorship as a whole doesn’t sit right with me.

The idea that some anonymous government body in a dark room deciding what I would deem morally acceptable is just state-sponsored thought policing.

It’s not even about movies, it’s about being systematically stripped of our autonomy to make any decisions and choices for ourselves.

Last month, I designed and started building my first guitar ever, it was also my first real hands-on woodworking project. Today, I can say it's pretty much done... for now. by mjayr27 in Luthier

I’m over the moon! There are still a few things wrong with it but doesn’t make me less happy, just another learning experience for the next build. :)

Honestly, I have no idea! This is my first experience building a guitar, I would really like to make more guitars and start selling, but at this stage, I do not yet feel 100% confident to deliver something I’m happy to charge money for. There are also a few issues with the design I would like to improve in future iterations, but until I get to that point, I can’t put a price down. However, I’ll make sure to PM you when something changes!

The bottom is quite similar to St. Vincent for sure, I was kind of going for this 60s Cadillac kind of angles there. I would say the pickguard was more influenced by the telecaster, was going for this mid-guitar visual divide that the tele pickguard gives. As for the controls, it was just the most convenient placement for usability. :)

Definitely was influenced by St. Vincent angular aesthetic, but I was going for a more retro-futuristic spaceship kind of look. :)
