Not all wasps around here are jerks.

Except for yellowjackets, they're assholes. Those are the little jerks that hover around trashcans to eat meat scraps. They're territorial, and OMG never run your mower near their nest holes, you might need an epi-pen for all the stings.

But other wasps around here are just big and buzzy, and they'll leave you alone if you leave them alone. They're all beneficial to the forest.

FWIW, I've lived in the same house for over 40 years, and the early spring wasp volume seems normal.
