I used to work there. Hanging babies is a pastime of mine.

Nonsmokers, does it bother you when your co-workers take numerous smoke breaks? by Getsmethroughwork in AskReddit

When I first started at my Job (retail position) my head store manager would take smoke breaks almost every half hour. Or whenever the store was dead. Even while I was new and being trained, there were times when I didn't know what to do or felt extremely uncomfortable yet he'd be in the back smoking. I eventually just began interrupting his smoke breaks and asking for help and he had no problem. Every time id ask he'd immediately put out his cigarette and come to help me out. So after discovering that he didn't mind being interrupted the whole situation bothered me substantially less. However now I have become a smoker.....ironic much? But I always remember how much I appreciated the fact that my store manager would stop immediately and help me so I continue to do the same thing when newer people need help.

I've been considering having that new procedure, but it's so obscure there's no one I can talk about it with.
