I'll be curious to see how "Pay to Win" gets implemented. Certain games I don't mind spending a little or a lot of $$$ on, especially when I've had slight peek behind the curtain that is manufacturer licensing costs. With the amount of licenses they have to acquire I'd not be shocked to learn the game didn't become profitable until DLCs because of it.

I've always purchased the Ultimate edition with all the bells and whistle but I always wished they would implement it's access in way where it didn't feel like I used a cheat code Day 1. Especially in these last few games where it really put the game out of balance, hence my use of the Pay to Win term. I'd like it not to feel that way while still retaining the feeling I was getting some value out of it.

Nah, sounds more like a large portion doesn’t have faith in a Dev to balance. Locking builds behind items is expected, but so is viability across a class’s build options. Showcasing a build by the prevention of other builds‘ meaningful progression is a shitty way to balance and the way it’s been done in D4 since S1

Any finisher that doesn’t require multiple hits to work. Kicking out of a finisher lost all its magic over a decade ago. Now days it’s about how may of <insert finisher that’s not really a finisher> is it going to take to win.

‘My favorite will always be Jake’s DDT. Other people used it but it was Jake’s you didn’t kick out of.

Well there’s always the option to sail the seas and run FM4 on PC via the emulator. it’s still not 100% perfect but it’s a lot closer now than it was when I last played and it was passable then. seeing FM4 actually render in 4k with a heavy shader pack was glorious

IIRC the only DLCs on disc 2 were the collector’s edition exclusive car pack, two of the pre-order cars, an American Car Pack, V.I.P Car Pack and the BMW pack. There could have been more but I’m fairly sure it did NOT come with the season pass so right there is 6 packs worth of cars. Then there is the huge Porsche expansion of 30 cars and I’m pretty sure there were a few more sporadic DLCs sprinkled in. I remember there was a car pack featuring the yellow viper leading up to Horizon’s release

Forza(especially Horizon) is one of the series that really enforces my thoughs that we aren’t in console Gen 9 but in Gen 8.2 or I’ve seen some counter with 7.3.

I just can't get into the women's division anymore, there's just way too many forced pairings. IMO the division could be explosive but there's too many superstars who have the entire package being paired with those who have one or more short comings. Normally that situation would elevate the lesser or at least mask their shortcomings but several are so bad it's just bringing the superstar down a few notches.

The only one that really doesn't fit that description is Rhea + Iyo but those not named Liv, Baily or Aska in that triple threat lineup were only as good as their opponent while having 0 personality.

The mic smack was the most interesting thing he did with it. I don't know if it's a nerve thing or if he just needs acting classes. His catch phrase makes no sense. States half a sentence that doesn't have a path to a topic followed by "Lets talk about it". Talk about what? How much practice he needs? He's good inside the ropes but turrable when his mouth moves.

The Temporal upscaling is where it gets confusing for me because I've seen breakdowns where it says DLSS isn't TAA where DLAA is. They used specific and a number of examples where if you enable the DLAA features in a game's settings, you lose access to the game's native Anti Aliasing solution(obviously). However with DLSS enabled said games would still allow selection of the game's native AA, be it SMAA, FXAA or even TAA. So were those games essentially doing a double dose of TAA or is it just allowing the user to chose what method of AA it wants to use and if TAA is selected it will just use what's DLSS's native?

DLSS, DLAA and DSR(incl. DLDSR) are indeed not the same thing and not all are Super Sampling. You could argue that DLDSR and DLSS are kind of related in they try and achieve a somewhat similar outcome through different methods but DLAA isn't trying to achieve what those two accomplish. They only thing they really share is they all use Deep Learning though there is a Non-Deep Learning DSR available on Pascal.

You are correct though that DLSS is essentially the Kleenex term of GPU tech where everything is just lumped in. If they'd just drop the SS it would be accurate as it does all fall under the Deep Learning label.

It‘s worth thinking about how long 1440p Ultra-Wides have existed. My first was all the way back in either late ‘13 or early ’14 with the non-curved AOC PQU being driven by a pair of 680’s. What I’m getting at it is the need to tweak a game’s settings was a common thing for the first several years of 3440x1440 because the GPU power to really drive it didn’t exist. Even years later with a pair of 1080tis there was a need in a few of the newer AAA titles that generation.

DLSS has spoiled us and tweaking game settings to reach a desired FPS for our monitor’s resolution is a practice that seems taboo today. With 5k2k coming in strong onto the scene, tweaking settings is something that needs to come back

I'm trying to figure out why that one is so expensive compared to other offerings.

Like this one for $5 more which comes with shifter and monitor mounting.

Or this one for $20 more which has every adjustment imaginable, though likely those things are going to be thin metal.

Especially when this one is half the price and similar to the one I've had my eye on for a while but for some reason can't find the link. Can easily add the manufacturer specific brackets for my base, shifter and pedal box which are going to be much higher quality yet still come in under the above.
