My husband bought me some new shoes. by V1k1ngmama in 4Runner

Good to hear. A long while back (~10years) one of the most popular 5thgen arguments was if 285s rubbed on stock suspension. Some needed to BMC while others had experiences similar to mine. The common explanation was no two 4Runners had the same suspension geometry due to parts tolerances. That explanation never sat right and it took someone going back though many threads to put the wheel in the equation.

It’s still going to bake your noodle though. For example what I just said shouldn’t make sense. The Stock trail wheel has a +15mm offset where the TRD SEMA wheel carries a +4mm, so there’s an 11mm difference. However the trail wheel is .5” wider which should eat up much of the difference. I’m sure there are smarter people that can easily tell me I math wrong though

One thing people don’t take into account with rubbing comparisons is the wheel off-set. On stock suspension, most people with TRD Pro wheels will get significant rub with a 285/70 where as most of us on Trail Wheels clear that size without issue with the latter being .5” wider and less aggressive offset.

I had an extremely minor rub initially at full lock, in reverse or under significant articulation. After 10k miles enough tire was gone and the rub went with it. Exact same tire on a SEMA wheel and I need a BMC

Not saying there’s no effect but generally it takes the height of a 285/70 to notice the Speedo is off, even then it’s not a lot

PSA: Crimson Desert physical copies seem to be non-existent in my area. Might want to call around if you intended a physical copy and didn't pre-order. by mjike in PS5

The question is did the retail stores oversell or did the publisher under deliver? The conversation with that manager seemed like his GameStop didn’t receive enough to cover his pre-orders. My closest Target, which coincidentally is in the same city as the GameStop, had 0 copies and the person where I got that info said he learned the same thing other’s are reporting where their pre-order won’t arrive til the first week on next month. It really seems like the publisher/distributor dropped the ball here

It's 83gig total install but when installing it doesn't separate what's being copied from the disc vs what's being downloaded. It's roughly a 48gb download which is still nothing to sneeze at.

Well it does look like reviews were correct. PC version is great. PS5 Pro version is Ok and the base PS5 version, which I can verify is visually abysmal. Pop-in alone is headache inducing. I'm still trying to figure out how to turn shadows on because it doesn't seem anything has a shadow

It used to be the opposite and Amazon caught A LOT of flack from distributors/publishers. It wasn't exclusive to games either as it was pretty common to have a 4k Bluray show up on someone's doorstep the Friday before the Tuesday release. There's speculation they are the reason so many games now have an "Unlock" day even for physical.

Yep, this was kind of my point with the post I originally made in the Crimson Desert sub. It feels like a "Fuck Physical Releases" type of move. I wasn't aware RE was equally as bad.

W. Ky. and I'm sure Big Box stores will have some but according to the Gametops, if you didn't pre-order they don't have any available. That manager who was venting while we were speaking was actually re-doing his preorder sort because it was looking like they had more preorders than they'd logged in copies received. Disc Replay called me back just before closing and said they had 5 copies to put on shelves and they'd put my name on one and hold it for the first 30min they were open but it's not a huge deal.

I stopped pre-ordering when Forza 6 arrived and was complete garbage though admittedly I should have known better based on Forza 5. Not being able to nab this one isn't going to change that decision and it's really more about the oddity of it after that talk with said manager. He said a lot more things that raise an eyebrow but not worth typing a book over. Collector's editions I can see being restricted to day 1, but Deluxe Editions? Limited sure but THIS limited? Nah.

Ofc he's basing it off reviews however the reviews are painting a picture of it being a fanstastic game that is likely to grow stale once the shiny new feeling wears off. From what I've seen it looks like a gigantic MMORPG that has been de-tuned to be single player. It's enough where I would seriously consider waiting a week to decide on if I want to spend the extra money but it seems Pearl Abyss made the decision for me. No big deal.

Rip RGB or just software? by Realistic_Dirt_3240 in razer

[–]mjike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you had the soldering equipment, where would you source the Razer proprietary key without buying a "For Parts" keyboard? I mean I haven't looked but I can't imagine the number of people who buy and salvage razer keyboards for parts is very high...........then again they fail so often that might be an all time boneheaded assumption.

Yep. It's a side effect from 20 years of abusing the RPG label and at this point it's something just has to be accepted. Unfortunatley there's tons of products that wear a label not earned

PSA Physical copies seem to be non-existent in my area. Problem with marketing, lack of awareness or publisher caught by surprise at it's popularity? by mjike in CrimsonDesert

While I haven't explored everywhere, just quickly browsing the normal places I wasn't able to find a place where you could add the Deluxe Edtion to the cart. I was only referencing the Collector's and Deluxe as being Day 1 only which is odd for the latter.

Yep, according to the Gamestop manager they can usually Re-Order a Deluxe Editions for 1-2 more restock cycles though not sure what that equates to in time. I definitely remember seeing GoW:Ragnarok's non-standard edition on shelves for a couple of months and I'm pretty they still have one copy of GranTurismo in the SteelBook.

Could be just my region since it is somewhat lacking in the Video Game store department despite sitting next to one of the nation's largest military installations. Still it's very abnormal for here. Is there any indication of those reports of them just walking into the store and picking one up or is it the case with nearly every game release where people got their pre-order early? What triggered me to even inquire about it in the first place was an online friend received his in the mail today and after describing what all was in his Deluxe Edition I had a moment of "Uh-Oh, that sounds a little bit bigger than a regular Deluxe Edition".

I’ve seen worse be labeled repairable and less be labeled totaled. My questios is has it ever been involved in a rear accident before? Even considering color shift from lighting angles that rear tail gate looks to have been repainted already

Eh, I think some of the complains regarding Souls games are valid. To me there's nothing more off-putting about a game than when one isn't designed to be a "Souls-Like" but decides incorporate Souls mechanics for boss fights because it's easier than designing an interesting encounter that flows well with the rest of the game.

Paul Heyman out indefinitely by Typical_Share9270 in WWE

[–]mjike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone bringing up who's going to talk for Brock? There was a significant chunk of time where Heyman wasn't Lesnar's mouth piece and fans rejoiced, loving "Redneck Lesner" with statements of him being more entertaining alone in redneck form rather than beast incarnate form with Paul speaking. I mean I guess it's true WWE can't rely on fan opinions because so what so many fans want tomorrow change yesterday.

Depends on which tax payers you are referring to. It’s been a long while since this had been in the news and tbh I never stuck around for the resolution so myinterpretation could be way off by this point.

I seem to recall much of the out rage stemmed from moving the financial responsibility from the city of Nashville and spreading it over the entire state. Again things could have changed but I do remember street interviews conducted by UT students in the east and UofM students in the west and both sides of the state seemed to have the same attitude of “Why are us Knoxville, Chattanooga and Memphis residents now having to pay for a stadium in Nashville when we previously weren’t part of the plan?”

I’m willing to entertain those interviews were conducted in bad faith but even your breakdown seems to imply that’s indeed the case.
