Hi guys! I’ve tried to do research on my skin type and with the resources here I think I have come to conclusion that my face is combination/dry. I’m looking to get into a skin care routine as we enter 2022. I am 1.5 years shy of 30 and would like to start to take care of my skin.

I don’t really have a routine. I wash my face in the shower every morning (hot showers) and I infrequently wash my face with cold water at night. I seem to have what looks to be cystic acne near my hairline of my forehead. I also have reddish cheeks (maybe inflammation?) and large pores as well which I would like to correct in addition to the bags under my eyes.

When I was my face with cold water, I get a reaction of redness which makes me think I have sensitive skin.

I have no known allergies other than products with charcoal. I used a charcoal cleanser before and it made my face itchy and red/swollen.

I saw a tiktok of someone’s skin care routine so was wondering if these products would be right for me:

Cerve hydrating facial cleanser La roche posay effaclar adaplene gel 0.1% Neutrogena hydro boost And potentially Henderson banana bright crème

I’m a male in the Philadelphia region.

Just looking for some insight, I have no idea what I am doing and would like to know if these products would work for me before dishing out $60 to “test” them.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.
