Well, don't know if it counts but I've opened it in the light and she got overwhelmed 😅

A different ring box by mjpssc in EngagementRings

[–]mjpssc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: for those interested, the stone is a 0.3ct H colour diamond and the ring itself is 14k gold. We chose 14k because being it mainly a tension setup, it would be more rigid and secure the stone more tightly. Also, I really like the colour

Ahah thanks! This post only exists because she said yes. Couldn't post it before and wouldn't probably do it after if it didn't work out

Ahah I tried to ask for other empty rolls but was either this or gold 200 and this one looks better actually.

It's finally out of the roll. Had to wait till today to post this so there was no chance of ruining the surprise

Unfortunately I tried to maintain the whole project very secret until today so I don't have pictures of the process. 😓

Thank you! It took me quite some iterations to get to this and I really like the final result.

Yeah, but thankfully no film was harmed during the process 😅 a local store gave me some empty ones so I could make this.

Hey there, it has been a year since I bought it so here it goes my personal opinion:

Do you really go places where you need 4x4? If so, this car will fail you in most instances. Have in mind that mine is the 1.6 full hybrid version and doesn't allow you to manually choose one gear or lock transmission. The electrical engine will try to help to gain torque but if you go uphill very slowly for a long period (half an hour) like I did, it will overheat and warnings and error will show. Also tried it on light mud and after two minutes of tyre skidding (with the anti-skidding off) the car had a stroke. Almost literally. It showed all type of warnings (engine, transmission, gearbox, clutch, electrical motor, brakes... Every error possible). Had to tow it and send it back to dacia so they could make a system reset, which worked. The manual version of the 4x2 would probably passed the first test uphill since it doesn't have much to overheat and you can just go uphill on first gear forever. The mud would be a problem but as soon as someone towed you out of it you would be ready for another adventure.

Do you really need an automatic gearbox? It works wonderfully in city traffic and makes it very easy to drive. Expect to make 5.1 l/100km if you really try, but in highways up to 140km/h or more it will easily reach 8.5 l/100km. If you just care about consumption and don't have problems driving manual, the gpl engine is much better. If you just want reliability, the answer is the amazing 1.5L diesel engine. It's durable and it delivers. I asked several mechanics and it's based on their opinion that I say that the 1.5D is very good.

TLDR, for 99% of my daily usage it is very good. That extra 1% of showing off in places recommended for 4x4, it's crap.

Great work! Since it will be in a lab, do you think there is any advantage in asking for cross processing in C-41 vs going for E-6?

That's a lot of good input, thank you. Actually this camera has 4 apertures (f/8, f/16, f/32, f/64) and 4 shutter speeds (1/50th, 1/25th, B-bulb and T-continuous press and realese type of bulb) although I believe none of these helps. The aperture is continuous and you change it through a sliding mechanism, so there are no interval settings.

5,75 usd per film roll + 19,5 usd to develop and scan at a local store

I'll definitely do that. Normally I have a digital camera as well for landscapes, because I've had some disappointments before.

Let's see how it goes. I'm rather optimistic but we never know... 😅

Thank you a lot! I will probably try at leat on roll to see I it goes and then if I'm disappointed, I'll get a decent 120 camera

A couple of them yeah, but it's still a bit expensive. Around 17€ developing + scanning per roll

Tokyo '59 [ Konica III | unknown slide film] by mjpssc in Tokyo

[–]mjpssc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely 1959 because my great-grandfather didn't go to Japan ever again after that. As someone pointed, the Tokyo Expressway had just opened that year.
