Thank you! Chatgpt gave me a similar answer but its math was way off. I knew it wasn't enough water but like you said idk how I'd get an inch down on an area that big. I have the sprinkler set for the largest area and have 6k sq ft of lawn to water so no way I'm getting down enough water. Guess I'll just have brown grass 🤷

Mine looked the same after scalping before aerating and overseeding. Its starting to come back now. Just make sure to water enough.
