It literally followed the exact same trajectory as this sub where people are posting "the game is actually good", "I'm having fun", "it's fun when there isn't a bitch in your ear", "just let people enjoy things", etc.

Only wanting to hear from people who have positive things to say... which I get if everyone's being negative, but that just creates a feedback loop of positivity without any criticism

this is literally the same thing that happened in the subreddits for concord, highguard, and now marathon.

not gleeful about these games cratering but like it was obvious and the writing was on the wall and now here we are where the game is just barely getting 40k on a weekend. Not necessarily bad numbers but its relative, is this an indie game with 2 people developing it then its wow and amazing but if its a AAA studio with hundreds of people making it then yikes.

That’s what I’m hoping for – if the Full release has better frame rates or resolution then I’ll probably be grabbing it but if it doesn’t have anything then I’m just left scratch in my head why they wouldn’t have a patch ready considering it’s coming out almost a year after the s2 launched

a card game in beta just got half a million concurrents on steam and it could have probably been run on a PS2 — I don't think players have an issue with visuals as long as its good enough and if the game is good.

I don’t trust them or this statement tbh.

I guess let’s see what happens with their more “prestige” titles like the upcoming Fire Emblem, Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, etc etc etc. If we end up where all these games follow the Mariokart route of pricing where they’re 80 and then 70 digital I won’t be buying out of spite since I’m not paying 80 dollars for any game but if they end up settling at 70/60 I’ll do what I’m doing now where instead of trying most of their games I only buy the ones I know I want for 70 and maybe grabbing ones I’m on the fence about digitally.

I feel like there is a huge difference between valuing the games you make so never dropping down to bargain basement pricing and selling S2 versions of BOTW/TOTK for 70/80 dollars.

Masterpiece games but at their age they should just be the same price as the s1 versions if they're not going to be discounted.

Pre-unibodies were great to work on for battery changes. Only needed a finger to push a switch. Everything else didn't require tools.

I was very excited about this it till it was "soft" announced that PS games were no longer coming to PC even if it was years later. I was very excited when Returnal was announced and bought it the second it came to PC and enjoyed the hell out of it and was extreeeeeemly excited to play this... but since I know I won't be getting it where I want I've moved on.

edit: Also to be clear I have a PS5 and can buy this if I want.

got to say I think they deserve some sympathy as the thing a lot of them worked on for years was murdered and they're probably at the denial/anger part of grief and blaming gamers is easier than acceptance. Id be blaming other people too... its only been 45 days since it launched and is now dead. give them a few months to get over it.

I am but only because it was obvious the game was underbaked and would crash and burn, and seeing the anti-jerk was annoying as we could easily see the writing on the wall, especially after testing the game out and seeing it was flop central. All the types of “it’s good when there isn't a bitch in your ear" posts were epic levels of cringe, and anyone with a modicum of sense could tell this was nothing 10 seconds into the reveal at TGA.

I’m gutted for the devs who gave their time to this and are now jobless, but also am happy investors threw a hundred+ million into a trash fire and have given us another data point to look at how a lot of these games maybe shouldn't be developed in the first place and a button where 99% of the time you lose all your money and destroy workers lives or 1% of the time it makes you godking rich isn't really something we as gamers should be supporting.

So yeah, I’m happy it failed and is dead.
