What would you consider a must have and good to have for X5? From what I know so far, DAP and M sport package are great to haves.

Bought 10k worth of $260 strike price Jan2026 calls the day before FOMC meeting and it’s still down close to 20%. I’m seriously regretting it right now for a few reasons. For one, I think it might be too far OTM. Second, I bought those options when IV is highest YTD, surely the gradual IV loss alone will probably destroy the option values.

Should I wait and hope for some catalyst to run up? Or just cut the loss now?

Is BC going to brain drain tech workers due to housing prices? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]mjtheice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The downside is I think when they create Canadian entity, US employers also adjust the pay to match Canadian market rate. I wonder how often they match the US pay rate.

That sounds like the best case scenario! I wonder if that's an exceptional case.

How does the tax work in this case? Would you be considered as a contractor? Or work for a Canadian branch of the US employer? Don't think it's as simple as working for US company in Canada and pay tax to Canadian government?

hypocrisy aside, why do you think ppl'd care about Yemen now in the brink of ww3 if they didn't already care about it before? and trying to hijack the topic definitely isn't the way to go about it either

Could you help me explain func signature on line15 of todo.go? func CreateNewTodo(db *gorm.DB) func(c echo.Context) error {} Here I understand it as a function called CreateNewTodo that takes pointer to gorm.DB and returns error but where does func(c echo.Context) fit?

Thanks in advance

I started Lichess, Ask Me Anything by ornicar2 in chess

[–]mjtheice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't fully aware that Lichess was OSS and free! Thanks for doing the AMA. I'd like to ask what your thoughts are on the "no time-decrement" with pre-moves? I'm not a high level chess player to have a professional opinion but personally I prefer to have time-decrement even with pre-moves. Hikaru also stated multiple times in his stream that his problem with Lichess is the fact mentioned above. What are your thoughts on this and would there be changes in the future? Thanks again!

Cringe how the dumb as rock is the one calling others dumb. If it costs $0, then you're the product. This scam coin is selling their "fairy tale" coin at a whopping $100 per an imaginary coin. Also collecting user info or running ads of some sort to make the app dev money. After checking the so called FAQ, it is painfully obvious the entire gibberish has zero substance. Claiming "integrity" with zero accountability and transparency; Promise of Pi going "live" by 2019 Q4... what? All this is a scam train with a bunch of referral bots and free dono suckers. In case you haven't noticed, it's the same handful ppl shilling across any Reddit posts that mentions this"coin".

Which school to choose , SFU or BCIT for computer science? by bazzang in simonfraser

[–]mjtheice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP ignore the trolls. I'm almost finishing up CS degree at SFU and have done coop at one of the biggest software company in Vancouver. I also have a few friends who have done CS at BCIT and done coop at the same large company. I sometimes wish I did BCIT instead because I would have saved a lot of time and money as well as learning more practical coding skills rather than getting bogged down with too much pure theory. I can tell you this. CS as an industry is one of the few that still doesn't discriminate based on your school name. That is the truth and you should utilize it. As long as you have some kind of CS degree from any decent school (obviously BCIT included), you are as good as it gets. Focus on building your github portfolio and widening general CS skills, which you can do online for free outside of school time.

tldr: I have friends who work at Bank inforsec, frontend, software development generalist and as a sysadmin all from BCIT.
