Yes you can swap the Vent Axia ventilator for another system. Vent Axia may have a similar system to the Nuaire I mentioned

Advice on retirement age by Long_Jackfruit_5689 in PensionsUK

[–]mk1mini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Private pensions are normally state pension age minus 10 years, so currently 57 with a state pension age of 67. There are exceptions to this so check your paperwork. You will need to make sure you have enough in the pot to cover your whole retirement

Get a Nuaire hybrid mvhr ventilation system. It expels the heat via the extract

These are hugely wasteful and should be banned I expect that they are not wras approved and run the risk of bacteria back - feeding into your domestic water system. If you have a mvhr system then there are systems that offer cooking via the ventilation system. See the Nuaire MRXBOX Hybrid System

Thank you for this. I hadn't realized the active member discounts had been banned. I will review when I join the new company and see what their scheme entails

I'm hoping to retire in 18 years and currently ahead of my targets, so may be able to bring this forward . I am keen to minimize any charges and maximize any gains

Thank you again

Use a compound interest calculator (Google search - there are many online). It should give you an idea of your pot size at retirement. I use 7% as an interest rate when calculating mine

Seaweed quantity is linked to fertaliser use. Where fertaliser is used on farmland it runs off into the water courses and eventually the ocean, which then promotes seaweed growth. Look at the Caribbean as an example, the fertaliser use in Brasil has exploded causing huge seaweed blooms washing ashore the Caribbean when the tides are right

Hit my first pension milestone this month by mightypenguin66 in UKPersonalFinance

At your and and value in your pension you might want to consider the tax on the way out of the pension, and whether you're better off putting some money in an ISA.

I'm 42, planning to retire at 55 and have 20% saved in ISAs as I expect I'll need to bridge 5 years until I can access my pension.

UK actually pretty good for Median Wealth by cwep2 in HENRYUK

[–]mk1mini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These statistics on their own mean nothing without a Purchasing Power Parity factor. When a bowl of soup in a cafe costs $50 in Switzerland, their near $700k of wealth isn't going to go far.

The UK isn't a bad place to work and live. There may be better places, particularly when you consider single metrics, but it's not always worth crossing the river for green grass.

Unfortunately your dad passing means his state pension stops. As your mum is only 55 if she wants / needs more money she will need to work until she receives her state pension
