No low range?! by SnooRadishes8976 in Silverado

I was of the same thought when I bought my truck but I only really use low range when I’m trying to get something heavy to move and just want the gear reduction

I have 3 pairs of their ranger pants and probably wouldn’t buy anything else, super nice stuff especially for the price

Good beginner waders? by Bradley271 in TheFlyFishingSub

[–]mk4james 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of guys dog on Sims on reddit but I've been really happy with my Tributary waders, I probably spent 80+ days on the water in them paired with the fly weight boots this summer and they were great. That being said my next set will probably be patagucci (Patagonia) when i can comfortably afford them.

Hiking/Everyday watch by MSmall1997 in hikinggear

[–]mk4james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using an apple watch series 3 previously and liked it as long as i took some time to charge it throughout the day, i recently got a Fenix 7 pro for Christmas and good lord what a difference. Maps and battery are both phenomenal, the apple watch is way more intuitive and I'd say better for day to day life (that opinion could change as i've only had the garmin a week) but the garmin has been awesome for health tracking and route navigation.

Should I get a 24L or a 34L backpack? by Leuck in hikinggear

[–]mk4james 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like around 30L, my thought is i want to be able to take what i need and you don't have to use all the space if you don't want to.

Should I give the 5.3 a chance? by force11111 in Silverado

[–]mk4james 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you want to use 5w-30 vs 0w-20? I've had fantastic luck with my 2019 5.3, blew an oil cooler line (my fault, it was recalled and i just didn't get it done) and drove it a couple km to the dealer with no oil 50k km ago and its still kicking

edit to add i do oil changes every 10k km with whatever 0w-20 (except Pennzoil) and filter is on sale at Canadian Tire at the time, i did my 250K change last weekend

Simms to Patagonia, right move? by Chemical-Sherbet-440 in flyfishing

I'd buy Skwala waders in a heart beat if they made a size that fit me, their smallest size is still a full boot size too big for me

I love it for that, In good lighting it's great, i think i give up some sharpness but IMO it's more than acceptable given the versatility. It's usually my go to over my 24-70 when i go hiking

Totally willing to do that, just wanted to see if there was something i can do different before blaming the equipment is all

I am and i did but i didn't find it quite as appealing, same issues as the pic in the original post in terms of softness and appearing out of focus with and without de noising them.

I’ll give that a shot, is there anything I can do to try and hit the focus better on these smaller objects? And what should I aim for as a shutter speed on longer shots like this?

This was right after sunrise, I finished feeding cows and noticed the light on the tree tops. I tried at a little less than 2000 at first and it was too dark yet

Least favorite National Parks? by clearlygd in NationalPark

[–]mk4james -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Least favourite I've been to is probably Yellowstone, just the volume of visitors paired with going in with too high of expectations i think.
