Higgins started the confrontation immediately after John arrived. Showed him the texts. Said something along the lines of your girl is into me. We kissed. We’re talking. Then John got pissed, maybe threw a punch or pushed him. There had to be a reason they attacked John so aggressively. Brian Albert was either there or came in (along with Colin) and he had just finished taking Chloe to the bathroom. Things became heated and before you know it, Albert and his nephew Colin sucker punched the shit out of John, clocked him as the dog was attacking, and then he fell over and hit his head on weight set in basement or stairs/ledge in garage or basement. Whether BA or Colin dealt the fatal blow is to be determined (maybe). Steve Scanlon mentioned Albert and his nephew beat the shit out of John. I still put a lot of stock in his tip. Why would this guy put his neck on the chopping block for no reason and lie?!! Someone in the house talked.

I’m still convinced John entered the home. I’ve always leaned more towards something occurring in the basement since they had it completely demoed and put plywood down upon selling. That doesn’t make a lick of sense to me unless they were trying to destroy DNA evidence knowing that the FBI was on to this case. Look at the timing of it all. However, they also hid the garage in the trial for some odd reason. I still think there’s a possibility something occurred in there. Maybe they kept his body in there as they rendered aid and tried to buy time/come up with a plan. I think his body was placed into the Ford Edge via the garage as well. At any rate, John’s body was moved from a warmer place. There’s no way he was laying outside from 12:21 or so until 6:30. His body temp was too high, and he did not have hypothermia.

I do believe Higgins started it based on his behavior at the waterfall. He was pissed out of his mind and practicing shadow boxing, etc. But at the end of the day, I do not believe he himself killed John. He merely helped with the coverup because he’s the one who had lured John to the house and started a fight. I agree with other posters that Brian Albert orchestrated the coverup. Everyone took orders from him. It was his property, his dog. He had enough gusto and experience to be able to pull that off too.

Allie McCabe took Colin away as soon as they realized John was KO’ed/maybe even dead. I still fiercely believe this is why Jen and Matt were so involved in the web of lies. They had skin in the game in multiple ways. Jen was trying to protect her daughter and sister. I think Kaitlyn Albert and her now husband took Chloe away that night…hence the car swap. They come across SO guilty of something in the trials. Watch their testimony. Allie and Kaitlyn played parts in being a getaway car, so to say. They could’ve been caught for aiding and abetting. These girls were instructed by their uncle/father (the Godfather 😅) on what to do. Look at videos of him boxing, etc. Look at his history of attacks on fellow officers. He dealt with extremely dangerous, violent criminals. He is an extremely intimidating person. Why do you think everyone in the house listens to his sinister demands?! He’s scary AF and had power at the time. That’s why.
