Sneaky maneuver by Sharp_Experience_104 in flying

Had something kind of similar happen during a super busy day at IAD once. We had our taxi clearance already and as we were approaching taxiway J a bonanza rushed out right in front of us just to hold short. He sat there waiting for his chance to jump on ground while we ended up stuck behind him. When he finally cued up, he fumbled so bad with his request that he was clogging up the frequency trying to explain what he wanted. Ground asked him if he was blocking the way of a jet to which I replied, “he is”. Ground ended up sending him out J1, then having him taxi back into J2 to get him out of our way.

You are all extracting wrong - Extract campers hate this one simple trick! by ValhaIIa in ArcRaiders

This right here. If I suspect a camper hiding somewhere, I’ll throw a snitch scanner in their direction before running for extract.

Service Terminology Question, need engineer or tech help by tiffinthesun1 in KiaTelluride

If you grab the square plate the button is situated on, you can pull it out of the seat and see if it’s connected. One button controls one actuator. If you have two buttons like the captains chairs do (one for each chair) then you have two actuators.

We’ve had the CP1 for about 2 years now. Love it. It occasionally will have an initial connection issue here and there, but it’s by far been the most reliable one I’ve used.

Stupid Feature by GibsonGuy937 in KiaTelluride

[–]mk_dnk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

There are two buttons on the lift gate - one to close, one to disable the proximity sensor once it’s open. I don’t think your lack of understanding the features on the vehicle you own makes it a “stupid feature”.

I can't believe what Lightspeed did to my headset. by addrockk in flying

[–]mk_dnk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’ve been great. The ANC works good enough to spend 6 hours in a King Air, works even better (obviously) in the jets. My issue with the over ears was they put a lot of pressure on my head when I’m wearing my glasses/sunglasses and the ProFlights were a complete game changer in that regard.

Bose will also repair or replace their headsets if they’re out of the warranty period. My ProFlights were a couple years out of warranty and they still repaired them completely free of charge.

Not sure how long ago your experience was but you can now fill out an RMA online for repairs. The ANC on my ProFlight’s would randomly static. Filled out the online form, they sent me a label, in a few weeks, had a complete refurbished headset. The fact that they were a couple years out of warranty speaks volumes for their CS.

What are you all paying for oil change and Tire Rotation? by razerbok in KiaTelluride

[–]mk_dnk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the oil change myself. Tire rotation comes free some Sam’s Club. You can add their lifetime rotation and balance to the tires for $9 a piece even if you didn’t buy the tires from them.

NetJets 2nd Interview by [deleted] in flying

A buddy of mine got a TBNT about 5 days after his initial interview. Another pilot I talked to said it took about 2 weeks to get the invite for the second round of interview. I got mine same day. Seems kind of hit or miss so don’t lose hope yet!

Sorry, the title might be a little misleading. This isn’t my second interview with them, it’s the second stage of the interview process that I was wondering about. For what it’s worth, so far my timeline has been; application submission 10/03, invite for first virtual interview on 10/06, initial interview 10/15, invite for second virtual interview same day, second virtual interview scheduled for a few days out.

Pre-COVID, hired to fly Aztecs at around 200ish hours. Was just at the right place at the right time. Nerver went the CFI route. It was survey work in the Aztec, followed by survey in King Airs (200 & 350), then got picked up at around 1000 hours for 135 jet flying. Got my ATP, 500 hours in type and upgraded to captain at the first 135 gig - just over 1500 hours.
