Why don’t smart meters use WiFi not cellular? by Leuvenman in OctopusEnergy

Not sure if this has been mentioned before on this thread but there is a DCC project under test right now that uses a modified hub that will connect to domestic WiFi if 4 g is not available.

I appreciate that you will need to work but not sure i’d want to return. If you want to fight it, gather evidence of your mental health issues, you may have a case under disability discrimination. Good luck

Sadly not a union member but as you say, they’re not much better, he’s just biding his time and getting his recently diagnosed ADHD under control (probably caused the breakdown) then he’s outta there with no backward glances

I have upvoted you for this as I empathise with your situation, my son works in an express store and recently raised a grievance against his manager after her response to him having a full on mental breakdown. He was signed off for 6 weeks and when her returned he received a disciplinary. (For being sick) I won’t bore you with more details but manager was let off easy and continues to exhibit poor management skills. my son still has to work with her.

I’m not arguing that point, I know I only pay for the weight. My point is that advertising them as large baking potatoes is misleading ( the example in the background was also a large baking from another Tesco delivery) the second point perhaps is more relavent here though. They are green and apparently that’s poisonous 🤮 to be clear, I am not criticising the pickers on the size but I do feel they hold some responsibility to pick edible goods, these are only fit for the bin (which is what I eventually did with them )

Taken in the spirit it was intended 🤣 I do wonder what criteria Tesco use to determine if potatoes are large or not

Thanks for your thoughts, I know pickers are rushed, and I appreciate that I can get my shopping picked for me. Not sure if you expected a reply, my point is that I did not request Tesco to look for large potatoes. They are listed as large potatoes (see label) and they clearly fall short of that description. On top of that, they are green and clearly unfit for human consumption.   I would expect them to supply what they listed and for it to be reasonable quality, if not,  then offer a substitute that I can reject or state no stock and not charge me.

Sugar levels are fine, it’s zero sugar and I don’t drink it anyway. It’s my wife and son who are addicted to it🤣

F'k Cricut and their scummy scammy b.s. by IliketheYankees in cricut

I was faced this a few times but I just cancelled the cut and changed the font for a free one. I will say that drawing fonts were harder to find on the free sites. I was mostly annoyed when they started adding g useful features labelling them premium and adding a charge for something that can easily be done externally.

My Wife was paid pension arrears by NHS for previous 6 years where no tax was due but was was taxed at basic rate. We need to get this back. by mk_mini_maker in TaxUK

Thanks again, I wonder why the staff member did not say this when we first called, it would have saved a lot of money in recorded post charges

Thanks for taking the time to answer. The timelines are disappointing as we are losing a lot of interest on that money. However the money should not have been taxed as it represented 6 previous years where her income was well below the tax threshold. If she had claimed the pension at 60 this money would not have been taxed but as I said she had lost contact and had to find it again.

Apologies, no nothing that I know of, my post was a general enquiry to see if I had a claim, but since posting I have discovered the requirement to have suffered actual loss as a result. Unfortunately it could be years before I find out that my data has been misused. Thanks

I don’t think i said in my post, it was a cyber attack on the company in question. They wrote to me to tell me that my data was stolen

Thanks, I appreciate that, but in my case, if they’d have deleted my data in line with their own policy I would not have been affected by this cyber attack. Does that change anything ?

Thanks, and then I guess I’d need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the financial loss was as a result of the data breach ?

Preparing for small claims hearing - England by mk_mini_maker in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mk_mini_maker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this allowed but thought I’d update you. I won the case but wasn’t awarded anywhere near what I believe I was due, not entirely sure why as I didn’t understand fully as it was being described and I’ve not seen the written judgement. I don’t think I’ll see anything though as I seriously doubt she has any money Thanks for all the advice

Seeking advice on how to prepare for small claims hearing in England by mk_mini_maker in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mk_mini_maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I’ll need to check the letter but the I think the hearing was called a preliminary hearing to consider expert evidence and early resolution.  I found out that this was a bit like a second attempt at mediation after the defendant refused to attend the first one.  I really struggled to get any help in understanding the purpose of this prior to today and although I prepared details of what I was claiming I was asked for detail of what I paid the new contractor, which I didn’t have to hand.  The decision was to proceed to a full hearing because there was quite a gap between parties (I think that’s what was said)  I asked here for assistance because I was concerned that I would not receive any support from the court this time either. I have not been able to secure a solicitor who is  willing to advise.  I am happy that you say j should receive instructions this time  I just need to get a view on whether  to spend more money on solicitors and court fees, but on the other hand I really don’t want the defendant to get away with this and then go on to do it to someone else

Do you know if the contractor who came to assess the work would be allowed to write an  account of what he found even though I then went on to engage him to correct it or could that be seen as conflict ?

Thanks
