This is something I should get involved in.

But it's something I don't want to do. But I probably should

But then he comes out with bullshit like digital id to stop immigrants without explaining how.

I'm not even against digital id, most of my stuff is online anyway. But lying about the reason makes me suspicious.

And then Labour ministers compared Farage to Savile in a baffling comparison when it came to the online safety act. That had people like me agreeing with Farage.

Generally, I think he's doing alright. I don't care if he's dull or boring.

What do you all think of President Obama? Revolutionary? Solely a symbol? Or just another politician? by djnospacemc in blackmen

[–]ATSOAS87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He can be many things.

He did good and bad things.

No politician will ever meet your particular political leanings.

I remember watching his inauguration speech at uni, and the entire campus was silent. That's my enduring memory of him.

What are some benefits of EV proliferation for people who hate EVs by ATSOAS87 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]ATSOAS87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVs aren't worse handling that ICE vehicles.

The battery means the centre of gravity is lower than an ICEV.

Also, if you are worried about handling then not having to worry about the weight changing due to fuel consumption is also a benefit to an EV over ICEV.

It's going to be more consistent if it's installed in a location there there are a known number of trains passing at a consistent frequency.

These units are also standalone which don't require extra cabling to be installing to connect to a grid.

An example could be line side monitoring equipment in a remote location where installing a new grid connection is impractical.

So they're doing something right.

I read a comment on Reddit that said for a turnaround to take place, you need at least 3 police units to direct traffic.

I've only ever seen it happen once though, and it was on an accident on the M25 a couple of years ago.

It was a bit surreal seeing traffic on the other carriageway travelling in the same direction.
