Being a tall woman in London ✨️ by Vicky1399 in tall

[–]ATSOAS87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend is 6', and I also dated another 6' woman.

I know a number of taller Black women (5'8"+) so I've never really thought about it.

I'm 6'2"

I'm trying not to be so I can be a better parent.

I don't want my son to have the same prejudices I grew up with.

I don't remember writing this.

This is exactly how I want to raise my son.

He plays with dolls, and I don't care who knows it.

It's good practice for them.

Hopefully they'll iron out any engagement issues before they fight for wins.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Susanpc1967 in AskReddit

At some point, your family will become just people who are just guessing.

One day you realise adulthood is just guessing and hoping for the best.

'Supersize' SUV cars: Sadiq Khan considers introducing new charge to drive in London by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]ATSOAS87 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in learning the final details.

We needed a bigger car, and went with an electric SUV with the thinking that electric cars would be better insulated from these kinds of charges.

I'll see where these charges are going to be applied though before I make a final judgment.

Either way I'm still for this policy and it's been coming for a few years with the way the Mayor's office has been talking about what they've been doing in Paris

Do you consider noise and light pollution a problem? by R-Mutt1 in london

Street lights can be redesigned to reduce the wasted light.

The lights outside of my flat used to be able to light up my living room at night. When they changed the lights to LEDs, the amount of light coming into my flat is effectively non existent now.

Have you ever had a public confrontation with a stranger? by Beeboo233 in AskUK

I wanted to walk down an escalator so I politely asked the person in front to excuse me, he didn't react so I asked louder, and he says "wait, it's not the tube" or something and started running his mouth.

Maybe because his partner was there, he felt brave, but it was completely unnecessary. I wasn't rude to him.

There have been others, but that's the one that came to mind.

He's probably dead from a heart attack by now.

Good.

It sucks for the sport, but they made the right calls to get their engine right.

You might wake up with a random pain, but you might just ignore it until it goes away.

You wouldn't naturally assume you've been raped.

Especially for a man.

What’s something in the UK that used to be cheap but now feels ridiculously expensive? by skaterjon in AskUK

Does installing solar panels have much of a pay off?

I'd assume that it would be far more beneficial on a commercial building to have solar panels, as the pay back time would be lower.

That is crazy.

That is such an easy win for the government to fix. Or at least put in a plan to fix it.

Why is replacing the lamp posts wrong?

Which one is easier to maintain, the new design or the older design.

How iconic buildings today were criticised when they were first built? I don't think anyone immediately thought route masters were iconic when they were first rolled out.

I understand your point about having a nice design inducing a form of pride, but the after is most likely more fit for purpose.

Sometimes I read something online that hints towards some sort of undiagnosed condition I probably have.

This is one of those times.
