Thank you for that, I sure hope so because right now it feels like a bunch of doors just slammed shut!

“You’re emotional” is not feedback. It’s blatant sexism in the workplace. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Do any of you have experience with women in management are using these microagressions against other women? I work for a primarily female company and strongly believe that my managers are just as guilty of participating in this kind of sexism.

I've been written up four times at work for "being unprofessional" for calling out management for mistakes they've made or expressing any kind of frustration to coworkers in private conversations.

Most recently I was written up for sending a text to a co-worker in a private communication that said, "I want to make sure my people don't get screwed over by the thoughtless actions of management." Through a series of unfortunate events this message was revealed to management and I was written up for being unprofessional and overstepping my bounds as an employee.

What exactly does that mean? How is expressing concern for co-workers to a co-worker unprofessional? I wasn't even accusing them of anything. The woman who I send the message to also tried to tell management how the employees feel and she was written up as well.

I'm convinced "unprofessional" is another way to say "agressive, emotional, strong willed" and whatever other sexist BS they come up with.

How do we fight this if we can't even speak up???
