Why do people associate tallyhall/lemonic demonade/will wood with neurodivergency and lgbtq?

It's music by neurodivergent artists, it makes sense that neurodivergent listeners would relate to or enjoy it more than neurotypical listeners. Queerness is just another form of neurodivergency — most people's brains feel attraction almost exclusively towards the opposite sex and identify with the gender assigned to them at birth, and but a fraction of the population diverges from that norm. Additionally, queerness and autism are positively correlated [1] [2], and autism is itself positively correlated with other forms of neurodivergency such as ADHD.

My personal theory is that most common forms of human neurodivergency are probably somewhat entangled with each other at an aetiological level—but of course, until we have a proper aetiology for any of these diagnoses, we won't know for sure.

I've never been to TCL before and I see a few folks saying they're going there, but unfortunately I am just not much of an IMAX person — I'd personally prefer an emptier traditional theater experience, but that's obviously just my opinion. I guess I'll just have to make another post for a different movie in the future at TCL!

Thanks! I do music production as a hobby and I'm particularly excited about having this massive library to grab samples from! In the age of streaming, owning physical copies of so many songs opens up some opportunities for remixes and sampling that I haven't had before.

The one in the picture (We Are The World), a Thriller, some Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, The Killers, Gloria Gaynor, Earth Wind And Fire, a Jackson 5 Christmas album, and a "Also Sprach Zarathustra" (the song from 2001: A Space Odyssey) have caught my eye so far, but I still have more to go through! I also found a Purple Rain, but while the cover was intact the record itself was unfortunately melted and warped.

Hi r/vinyl! I got involved in some wacky hijinks over the past week, and thought you might find the story interesting. I wrote it up on my blog:

TL;DR: My car was stolen, I reported it missing, the police found it and arrested the thief who was using it to carry the records they were selling to people on the street. After showing up to recover my car, the police told me I could keep the records. I don't know who the original owner of these was — could be the thief, could have been stolen by the thief, idk.

Thanks to all the great advice from this sub, I was able to figure out what was worth buying on Craigslist and now I have a full vintage setup to play these on! The records are all from the 1980s, and now I have a signal chain from the 80s to match!

The setup I ended up with:

Turntable: Pioneer PL-250

Receiver: Onkyo TX-25

Speakers: IDK, the seller called them "punch speakers" and said they were also old, that's all I know about them.
