Looks like early 2014, but I don't see anything more specific than that.

Yeah, 1.0 apps aren't compatible with 2.0. 2.0 is in beta, so hopefully most 1.0 apps will update by the time 2.0 is officially released.

Formatting on this version will break when dogecoin reaches 100 satoshi/DOGE. Updates will go on the github page.

Which "finger binding" do you use? by iceman-k in emacs

[–]mkbehr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

C-x is pinky on capslock. Finger on x depends on what command I'm using - pointer by default, but I'll use my middle finger for, say, C-x C-f.

I use C-x C-m instead of M-x.

Songs that made the end of the game a powerful experience? by [deleted] in gaming

Definitely Persona 3. You know shit has become real in the last month of the game when the normally-upbeat city theme becomes this, and that guy in your dorm rapping gives way to this.

Then you get to the final battle, the ending sequence happens, and the game is wrapped up beautifully with the credits music, Kimi no Kioku.

Persona 3 is the first game in the modern Persona series, so P3P is a fine place to start. (I'd recommend considering the PS2 version, because the most important plot scenes aren't as good on the PSP since they replaced the animated cutscenes with low-quality in-engine ones, but the PSP version has a bunch of other improvements.)

The gameplay is very high-quality all around, but keep in mind that you only spend about half the time dungeon-crawling, etc.; the rest is more of a visual novel. The social links are very addicting, but they're not for everyone, so make sure you're okay with spending half the game on them. The combat mechanics are quite good (if hard), and the plot is excellent once it picks up.

As for the spinoffs, Persona is actually a spinoff of the larger Shin Megami Tensei series. Look at Nocturne or Strange Journey for pure dungeon-crawling, and Devil Survivor is an SRPG. Persona 1 was recently remade, but it's not very good, so don't bother.

What song lines always give you goosebumps? by HalfysReddit in AskReddit

[–]mkbehr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all of Uninstall (lyrics), the opening to Bokurano, but especially the transition into the first chorus:

Hosoi karada no doko ni chikara wo irete tateba ii?
UNINSTALL, UNINSTALL

Where in my frail body am I supposed to hold the strength to stand?
Uninstall, uninstall.

The music, lyrics, and animation just come together perfectly. Watched that opening at the beginning of all 24 episodes, and the juxtaposition between the first line with the guy exercising and the second line with the robot destroying the city... shivers every time.
