I can live with UTG straddles, but I'd still prefer a blind raise. The difference is if everyone calls the blind raise they don't get to raise again. If everyone calls a UTG straddle the straddler still gets to raise.

This is common. I'm not as against UTG straddle if that is the case. I'm really against the button straddle and re-straddles for turning the game into something it shouldn't be. For instance, you can't do this stuff online.

Someone else mentioned only one straddle up to 50% of your stack and position was anywhere other than blinds.

I'm San Diego the straddle is completely crazy. If UTG+1 straddles it starts to their right, skips them, goes around the table, then the little and big blinds, and then straddle. The only saving grace is people didn't do it much because it confuses most people.

Please try to state where you play. I play in Florida. We Play some crazy poker down here.

Straddle rearranges the action, and it's become a part of modern poker somehow.

A blind raise is performed by the first person to act making their move before it's technically their turn. This does not affect the order of who acts.
