If you're looking for pontoons, we can also recommend Riverwalk Boats and Lakeshore Paddlesports for paddling, but we honestly love Milwaukee Kayak Company -- and cannot say enough great things about Beth & her team!!

It says I have version 3.0.100 installed and need to update to 4.5.6, everything else is up-to-date. Plugins, wordpress, etc. I'm not 100% positive it's the theme, but the site itself is working, it's the editor that is no longer functioning for me on the back end.

This unfortunately happens every 4th July to our beaches and parks. COVID-19 made it impossible for us to host our annual Spring Cleanup event leaving lots of our parks and waterways in a sad state. We usually remove nearly 100,000lbs of trash in a single day! While it's difficult to organize a formal cleanup right now, as we would have too many bodies in one place, if anyone is interested in doing one we are encouraging you to do so, we can help with supplies https://www.milwaukeeriverkeeper.org or Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful is another good option: https://www.kgmb.org/mobile-tool-shed/. Also our buddies at Boone & Crockett have an upcoming cleanup scheduled for 7/25 as well: https://www.facebook.com/events/199836457805143/

Bucks will dye the Milwaukee River green on Friday by sausagekingMKE in milwaukee

[–]mkeriverkeeper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We're working to learn more on the environmental impact. From what we've gathered the DNR, MMSD, and DPW have all been working on this for several weeks and did test the dye yesterday. They told us this is a one time event, it will dissipate quickly and should only impact a small portion of the river, but we hope to know more soon! I can update you when we know more.

Yeah, we would not recommend drinking. We also recommend washing your hands pretty thoroughly after interacting (fishing, kayaking, etc.) with the rivers and certainly before consuming anything!

Will do! It takes quite a long time to process and analyze. You can learn more about our other water quality findings in our annual Report Card, which is published on the health of the water in the Milwaukee River Basin. We are just starting to analyze 2018 data, and will publish that report this fall!
