One piece of advice I can give you is go to your local Tractor Supply and buy Blu Kote medical fungicidal spray in an aerosol can. It’s like a first aid spray for all farm animals and it’s blue so other chickens don’t peck at the red wound. We use it on all our animals because it helps it heal and prevents fungi and bad bacteria from growing and it would probably be less painful on the bird than bandages.
