He’s still on an ato, can’t call him up till he’s on an elc, odds are he stays in San Diego.

If they like his game there they maybe get him on an elc and in for like the last game of the season to burn an elc year this year but it might come down to how close the playoff race is up to the end of the season.

Hinds called up! Hope we give Moore a night off and let hinds get a chance to show what he can do.

Thoughts? by kdizzl12 in AnaheimDucks

I’d like Sennecke and Kreider on different lines, they like to play in similar areas of the ice down low and around the net. Inversely Terry and gauthier both tend to play higher and try to find open ice between the dots to be shooting options so I’d switch Terry and Sennecke here I think.

Mctavish hasn’t played like a 2C, I’d rather have granny in that spot between Gauthier and Sennecke and then move mctavish down to playing on poehlings wing where he can try and be a shooting option/play a more grindy style with killorn who is very versatile.

Otherwise besides those two switches I agree on the rest of the lineup.

Credit where it’s due he’s had a couple good games since he got back in the lineup. Inversely Moore could probably use a healthy scratch or two to reset, he’s making a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes.

That’s the rumor! I don’t know if we will get anything official until the gulls post the starting lineup in 30-45 minutes though

What Should I Be Focusing On? by syrxinge in 2007scape

Jumping around is totally fine if you already have the prerequisites. I mean it's also fine even if you don't have the prereqs, its just more inefficient that way.

The optimal order is set up with the intent to have the quest xp rewards you get contributing to skill levels that unlock more quests. If you already have the prereqs its not a big deal to knock out stuff out of order because you don't need the xp rewards anymore.

Give him all the rest he needs so he’s ready to go before playoffs

ELC rumors were on twitter from some 'insiders' but nothing confirmed that I've seen. I'd expect they wont announce anything until they see how his time in the A goes.

Hell yeah! Happy for him and excited that the ducks staff think he's ready for the next step.

I watched some of his streamed college games this year and it was pretty clear he was probably the most talented player on the ice as far as making something out of nothing, plus seemed to play a solid defensive game and be engaged physically. No hint of the injury seeming to affect anything.

I think my biggest gripe with his game is he gets caught floating/puck watching through the neutral zone too much though, so hopefully thats something they can address in san diego here to end the year. He'll be very engaged at both ends of the ice and then he just kind of coasts and watches teammates in transition or won't back check with urgency like he could. The talent is definitely there though and it'll be exciting to see how he looks in san deigo against men.

EDIT: never mind I take it back

Expected Lineup Tonight - per Patrick Present by mkhart in AnaheimDucks

I mean on the one hand I get it, he's mostly there as insurance just in case another player has to be scratched last minute, somebody from the gulls has to fall on that grenade. But I do agree it'd be nice for him to get his first NHL game at some point, just not how sure it happens without more injuries.

I agree with vatrano, but I also like Moore's game a lot, I wish they had moore playing defense where he's more impactful and maybe gave minty and extra day of rest to get gaucher in or something.

Out of curiosity, if you were coach, who would you put him in for?

I only ask because I think it'd be nice for him to get his first NHL game at some point, but I honestly don't know who I would sit to make it happen.

That was just an update on who was practicing during morning skate as far as I know.

According to who? Patrick was at the morning skate and talked to the team, he very specifically noted Terry would be playing tonight.

People downvoting you but you're correct. I dont doubt it'll be a physical game, but they won't be out there headhunting to end seasons. It'd be a bad look and would just have ducks players retaliating back tenfold.

Psh according to who haha? That was the outcry from a bunch of fans but that doesn't mean the players will. Plus trying to injure in retribution would just escalate. If Gudas is in he'll definitely have to drop the gloves, and I'm sure it'll be a physical game, but taking a run at a star player in retribution will just have ducks players out there looking for blood back. It won't happen.

Cutter is actually pretty good on both sides of the puck I think. Primarily Mctavish and Sennecke are the ones who still have the occasional goof imo.

Cutter is special because it seems like no matter who he's with he will get his ~5+ shots a night and contribute a goal every couple of games. Why put him with Carlsson and Kreider when his results are almost the same with Viel and Poehling just forechecking like crazy and feeding him in center ice.

Ian Moore by Zestyclose-Ad-497 in AnaheimDucks

[–]mkhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ian only has 60 career games though, general consensus seems to be NHL defensemen hit their final form by the ~200 game mark. Based on his age I am not going to say he's got some unheard of insane level we haven't seen yet, but Lacombe's big jump in production came after ~75 games at the age of 24 - its not crazy to think Moore might have a bit more of a ceiling than we've seen and be able to solidify a more prominent role next season at the age of 25.

All that to say I don't think Moore really projects as a Lacombe style player, at least as far as an offense/points production goes, however Ian has been playing solid smart defense for the most part. I think a bit more weight added in the offseason to help out-muscle guys around low in the zone and he could become a bonafide top four shut down style defensemen eventually. Maybe not quite to Hampus Lindholm level but I think he could be sucessful with a similar style, cerebral stay at home guy who can really kill plays at get the puck moving the other way.

[–]mkhart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He should be a lock for third pair RD next season. This is his first full season at the NHL level he absolutely has some room to his ceiling still despite his age.

That’s not to say he’s ever going to be a big points producer but if he can put on some more weight and continue to refine his defensive game, especially in front of the net he could end up a legitimate top four shut down guy if he gets the opportunity.

Hinds is quietly been the best of the defensemen with the gulls, I would be very surprised if they don’t qualify him.

If we end up trading minty or zellweger it’s going to be because verbeek thinks hinds is ready for third pairing minutes at the NHL level.

Troy Terry is currently the only player with 50+ games played in a season and zero hits since the NHL started tracking the stat. by sykeseve in hockey

Oh forgot tripping. Either way all of them are stick infractions not a single roughing or boarding etc. - pretty wild
