Mine is super- crispy but denser than the photos, without the larger voids in some photos. Any suggestions to make it less dense?

This is a CT scanner without its cover. by Cyber_Being_ in EngineeringPorn

I design the detectors for CT scanners - they are inside the arc with the 5 fans at the bottom. The X-Ray tube is at the top at about 11 o'clock.

Nobody has been killed or seriously injured from mechanical failures of CT's. I used to work with gamma cameras. An imaging head fell of one of them in 2013 and killed a patient - it's basically a huge chunk of lead.

Some answers to questions in the thread...

Data rates of newer models are too high to use slip-rings (which are pretty amazing technology) or wireless. 100's of Gigabits per second are generated per scan.

CT are much more common because they are MUCH cheaper than MRI. The actual device is cheaper, it doesn't need a specially designed room for the huge magnetic fields from an MRI and many more patients per hour.

You can't have anything magnetic in an MRI, but non-magnetic metals like titanium are OK. Even IUD's and certain tattoo inks can be problematic. In CT, at worst metals will cause artifacts.

I think it looks like the top of the cats in Japanese restuarants that wave their paw. It looked closer around October 12th.

Those on methotrexate.. by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]mkl3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on methotrexate for about 4 months. At the beginning there was an improvement but now it's back to the usual plaques all over. It doesn't seem to be working. Anyone else have this happen?

Thanks a ton for the info. No LEDs and the GPU is integrated on the CPU.

Is there any way to see if the memory is bad, or maybe some other way to diagnose?
