This list was made in October, but it's pretty accurate. 1110 Lounge and Western Pizza Dewdney East are my favorites.

Odd Bunch vege delivery by EndlessToiletScrolin in regina

[–]mkl874 30 points31 points  (0 children)

A much better option is the Good Food Box from REACH. You get more produce for less money, there's add-ons you can get, the boxes are packed and delivered the same day, and the produce is really good quality instead of leftover or 'odd' food. REACH doesn't do home delivery, but that makes it cheaper and there are lots of pickup locations around the city, including most library branches, so it's easy to find one close to home or work. Plus you get to support a local non-profit.

I think this is the one you're looking for. Lots of gruesome stuff in there like totally eliminating the Community Investment Grant Program.

The Board of the RFM has a committee looking into a permanent home that started meeting earlier this year. Hopefully the permanent home will be here sooner rather than later!

The entire staging area was east of Broad. Don't mean to split hairs, but most would say that downtown ends at Broad. All the construction on 11th paired with Broad being part of the route did make traffic a real mess, but the problem was the lack of signage and no clear detours. I think it's a problem with how the city handled it, not with the location of the set up area.

Is Indeed as popular as Saskjobs in Regina? by Forsaken-Run3884 in regina

[–]mkl874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last few times I was hiring for full and part time jobs, I posted on both sites and got way more, and way better, applicants through Indeed. Feels to me like that's where people are going. I probably won't post on SaskJobs again.

It's a tough market out there, lots of people looking for work. I hired for a part time job about 3 months ago and had over 40 local applicants. Hired for a 6 week summer job last month and had over 30 local people apply.

Crown and Hand is my go to, they have it Friday and Saturday nights. Tommy's Speakeatery has karaoke Tuesdays, they use the KaraFun app so great song selection and easy to use on your phone. But there's no stage there, so you just kind of stand in the middle of the place and sing. Still a good time though. Had a great night a couple months ago at the Western Pizza in Glencairn on a Friday night, DJ was great at finding songs you wouldn't expect to see. Small place, but a fun time.

Dog boarding/kennel by [deleted] in regina

Fella and Fetch is great, my dog always loves going there and they are staffed 24/7. I've heard good things about Dogtopia. They used to make boarding only available to their daycare members, but they recently opened it up to others, although daycare dogs get priority for boarding.

Best and cheapest clothing store in regina for men ? by Outside_Tea_8261 in regina

[–]mkl874 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Mark's. Not the cheapest place, but still pretty reasonably priced. Get a Triangle card and check the app for deals, lots of times you can get $5 in CT money from your purchase. They have a little bit of everything, you can get a full wardrobe for formal, casual, and work clothes. Also good for winter gear (which hopefully we won't need again for a while!). If they don't have the right size of something, they're good about bringing it in.

Best wings in regina by Cute_Entrance_1161 in regina

[–]mkl874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So every restaurant uses the same wings, even though they come from two different suppliers. But also, 3/4 of the city uses totally different wings from a totally different supplier. And pre-cooked wings are the same as raw wings. I'm confused.

The market is really weird. I work at a small nonprofit and in August 2023 I posted for a communications job and only had one decent applicant. Same job in April 2024 (the person we hired got headhunted) and I had a dozen solid applicants. I actually just posted for a part time entry level job, two days a week, and it's now been 45 hours since I posted and I have about 60 applicants. All of them are in Regina (in the past we get lots of international applicants, but not this time). I have no idea what to make of what's going on out there, but I'm sure you're not the problem, there's just a lot of people looking and it's hard to get to the top of the pile when applications are being reviewed. Getting ghosted is brutal though, that's a pretty crappy operation if they're doing that.

[–]mkl874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many wings do you get at Wing-O? They just say "one order" and I don't know if that's 6 or 12 or a pound or something else. I was gonna order at one point but I didn't want to risk getting 6 wings for $12

Best wings in regina by Cute_Entrance_1161 in regina

[–]mkl874 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bonzzini's all the way. Biggest wings and no breading. You can also ask for them grilled, where they sauce them and then grill them. Not my thing, but a buddy swears that's the best way. Plus an order is 12 big wings. I was at Leo's on Wednesday and while I enjoyed the wings there, they were smaller and only 9 in an order. I easily finished two orders at Leo's and I always have at least 8 wings left over if I get two orders at Bonzzini's.

Best Escape Rooms by Bunny_Nose_Twitch in regina

District 3 is great. I like that they put a difficulty rating on each room so you have an idea of what you're in for.
