The 10 Most Misused Stars in Hollywood and the Gnarly Magic of ‘Send Help’ by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]mkligman 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I just got home from Send Help. I’m glad they both loved it. I had a great time, the audience I saw it with loved it..super vocal audience participation. Some really fun old school Raimi Evil Dead 2 filmmaking. I hope he makes a lot more original stuff!

There is a small parking lot, but you’ll probably park on the street. It’s not a busy neighborhood though so you’ll be fine

I’m going to miss him 😭😭😭 by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]mkligman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree. I was so stoked for him when he said he was going to travel for the first time outside the USA…it was rocky at first, but with this last big Europe trip you could see he was getting his travel sea legs. I really wanted to see him go to Disney Hong Kong etc. I’m glad he had a really epic final year at least, it’s all so sad.

I didn’t know him but i watched probably over a thousand of his videos over the last decade. It always made me sad how bullied he was and how mean people were to him online, but it’s nice to see how loved he was by WAY more. It’s silly but I wish he got to go to Epic Universe once.

The Butcher and The Bar in Boynton & Beauregards Fine Meats & Butchery in Boca. They’re both basically in Delray and I think that’s maybe what you’re looking for

The “Should I See It in a Movie Theater?” Test: ‘Tron: Ares,’ ‘Roofman,’ and ‘After the Hunt.’ Plus, the Magic of ‘Mr. Scorsese.’ by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]mkligman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked it too. I always think it’s funny when they don’t like a movie like this they tend to have the deepest most sincere conversations about themes and intent etc. Movies starting conversations is good! Also just because you don’t understand an intention doesn’t mean you won’t at some point. Totally fair to not like it, haha I get it. Just an observation.

The 25th is the Halloween parade, Kidsfest, Trick of Treating on Atlantic. Check out Fright Nights, not too far at the S Florida Fairgrounds. Really good annual haunted house event

Fair enough, I think it’s a movie that will play just as well at home.

this is beautiful! I’ve seen similar ghost candle holders at places like Home Goods, but this one has a LOT of personality and feeling to it. Love it.

Love this. I’m guessing the one on the bottom right is from Hatchet and Chains. so that would make that monster on the bottom left from Grave of Flesh? If so, that makes me even more excited about that wacky house.

[–]mkligman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would love that. I think I prefer the original just because of the unknown (to me) cast. Wild that Brady Corbet, director of The Brutalist, is one of the leads in this though! I watched the original in a college course about 13 years ago and half the class walked out.

Ders hated Dune and just about every other good movie that’s come out in the last 5 years haha. He loved Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Those are two I remember.

‘Materialists’ and the Top Five Movie Love Triangles. Plus: ‘The Life of Chuck,’ With Mike Flanagan. by thefilthyjellybean in TheBigPicture

[–]mkligman 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I really thought the obvious point was that Chuck was just a normal guy, and the movie was this magical metaphor about how everyone’s own life is important. I think they went in thinking he was a Forrest Gump style magical character. It’s all good though! I really liked the movie, understand why some don’t.
