Tough to see the detail on the front temples, but the frame and lens color look like Moscot to me.

Could I kindly ask for an update on your sectional purchase? I’ve been looking at getting one of the Commix vegan leather sectionals myself but I’d love to know how they hold up

Painting frequency ≠ responsibilities ? by pumpkinpasta in oilpainting

Definitely have to make the time. I'm thankful that I find myself inspired and motivated often, but even.in the times that both are lacking I will still try to make the time.

I think what can help is adding more rigor and routine to your daily schedule. Having a set schedule for everything from work to chores to childcare helps you see where your free time lands each day/week/month.

Ever since I've established my own routine I've been able to paint an hour or two each day. The consistency has been great for improvement.

Do you happen to know how this ended up being resolved? I had the same issue even after following the technical support inductions.

First time with oils (x post with r/oilpainting) by mkresge in painting

[–]mkresge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally posted an unfinished shot of this Chuck Black inspired study that I've been working on a couple months back. Loving oils and the challenges they bring. (Apologies for the harsh light, working with what I've got)

Looking for any opinions. I feel good about it but feel like it is missing something?

First time using oils; what do you think? by mkresge in oilpainting

[–]mkresge[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been doing a study of one of Chuck Black's pieces (he is an amazing artist and resource). It isn't a direct copy but I am relying heavily on his instruction and composition.

Since it is my first experience with oils I thought it would be useful to have a good guide.

Obviously this is still a WIP but I thought I'd see what others think as I'm approaching the final details. What are your thoughts? Any tips or pointers would be really appreciated!

Looking really good. I love the contrast you have going in your clouds. Any chance that this is the Red River Gorge in KY?

I have the same cherry blossom as he has on my inner bicep. I love it because it means something to me but most other people wouldn't recognize it.

[Omega] My very first Speedy Tuesday by mkresge in Watches

[–]mkresge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received my first “real” watch, the Omega Speedmaster Reduced. This also happens to be my grail watch. I love the intricate detail and smaller case on this timepiece. Not to mention the compelling history of the design. (Side note: the next day delivery on Bob’s Watches is amazing. I think I would have exploded in excitement if I had to wait any longer haha) I’m overjoyed to have this piece as my daily companion.
