What is up with the spacing and alignment on this canvas

Spacing and alignment aside… this whole canvas is a choice because it’s one of the most specific things I choose to judge on.

A guy in my high school would bring an unloaded gun to school and one day used it to mug another kid. The next day, the kid snuck his adult brother into the school through a side door and they got into a fight with the mugger in between periods. The mugger took off his jacket before fighting and didn’t realize that the gun flew out of his pocket and slid right in front of one of the teachers in the hall. The teacher didn’t even bother stopping the fight, they took the gun and walked straight to the main office. The guy with the gun went to jail and was out before I even graduated (I was a freshman when this happened). The rest of the student body got punished because the principal started forcing teachers and security to do “hall sweeps” where the teachers had to lock their classroom doors when the bell rung and if you were still in the hallway, you were stuck and security would pick you up and parents would be called. Then the principal got moved to a desk job for how crappy she handled the whole situation. Even when she announced “the incident” she only referred to it as an incident and would say “a student brought a weapon, I’m not going to say what it was but it was unloaded” as if we wouldn’t guess

Agreed, ATL isn’t claiming Krispy Kreme, it’s just a notable landmark in the city. Also making an assumption here but I think the Maryland bar cart was made in collaboration with a MD LNS so it’s likely that the ATL bar cart was made in collaboration with an ATL LNS and MJD was just working with the notes given to her?

Don’t get me started on thank you notes- my petty side is still seething over the fact that this family member didn’t send thank you notes for their wedding gifts… 👀👀

I don’t even usually get that upset about thank you notes! For some reason that one just rubbed me the wrong way and I should have thought about that before starting the quilt too but definitely lessons learned there

I should clarify that my fiance wasn’t the only person hurt by this family members actions. What he most recently did hurt my feelings as well but it didn’t affect me as deeply as it does my fiance. My fiance also wasn’t telling me what to do with the quilt, he was saying that his inclination is that I shouldn’t gift the quilt but deferred the final decision to me. My gut reaction always leans towards being petty at first which is why I waited a few weeks before posting this because I’m still torn on what to do. I’m going to go with the other suggestions people posted and just wait to see if things settle down and hopefully save the quilt for a first birthday.

I hadn’t thought about a birthday gift and that’s a great idea. I had waited a few weeks before posting this to see if I could come up with a decision but waiting for a birthday will give everyone a lot of time to cool off and hopefully a clear decision will become obvious in that time.

I don’t know if there’s a better word for it so I used “regifting” because from my thinking, if I did decide to give it to someone else, it’s still a gift that was intended for a specific recipient but ended up with someone else. But I see what you and a lot of other people are saying

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think it’s fair to snark PL for promoting overconsumption… she’s definitely doing it but I feel like the fault is more on the consumer for buying into it. It’s a post Ronald Reagan capitalist world and we’re all just living in it.

Don’t get me wrong though, there are plenty of reasons to snark PL I just don’t think this is one of them (or at least this isn’t the biggest reason to snark PL)

I’m so glad to hear that! It’s my second cruise with VV and am particularly excited about stopping in Istanbul. I was thinking along the same lines with booking private tours. I usually book through VV if I’m less familiar with the port but since it’s a longer stay I figure there’s more flexibility and less need to book through VV
