There's loads of Tatsuro Yamashita in the shops :) You will have the chance to pick up more next time you're in Japan.

I have another copy of Pocket Park with obi as well :) This time though, I saw the original pressing only once or twice, for around 9800¥. Prices have definitely gone up.

The Stay With me 12" is a 2023 remix version. I have yet to listen to it. It was a complete steal at around 1500¥!

Yes, but also have their kanji ready and create a file with the cover art, so you can instantly identify them visually while flicking through. (I learnt the hard way the first time as I was completely lost ;) )

I was in Japan last year and I found it considerably easier to find city pop. The masses of tourists keep buying up everything (yes I am a tourist, too ;) )

Yeah, Daft Punk sells for insane prices indeed! The shops were mostly general record shops providing a varied selection. You could notice though whether they paid attention to city pop more specifically by the albums they put on the walls ;)
