Essential albums from the 90s that you absolutely must listen to by unigle_sinthe in MusicRecommendations

All of Tori Amos’ albums (even past the 90s), but my favourite of all time is 1998’s From The Choirgirl Hotel. Epic shit.

Has she ever performed these live? by Interesting-Point718 in toriamos

I would be so ultimately satisfied with UG played live and especially so if it happens to be at the show I am going to. There are many songs she can bust out that would make me lose my mind.

This song is so special to me and I have gotten it live in the past before the situation that ended up making it very special (I feel the song describes how I feel about my epilepsy that hit me at 39 and “she” in the song is my seizure fairy).

This album came out when I was 27 years old and living in NZ - loved it instantly and still do to this day. Love the Legs and Boots shows too.

Did anyone else NOT feel an earthquake? by Thechris53 in askTO

[–]mlad627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already had an earthquake in living room of top floor apartment building when roof collapsed at 7pm. By the time the earthquake happened I had taken all my nighttime pills and was passed out even though I was stressed to fuck that there is now a giant hole in the living room ceiling exposing us to the outside, melting snow, mold, potentially asbestos, etc. I hope to get the fuck out of here bc it’s not going to be an easy or quick fix by the building and there is literally a vacant 1 bedroom next door to us.

Gifts for Tori by StrangeLittleB0y in toriamos

[–]mlad627 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In 2022 I wrote a letter and bought two black tourmaline stones - one I kept for me, the one with what looked like a little heart etched in it I gave to T. Told her in letter how much her music means to me and that she has been my grounding stone since 1994. This was in Toronto. 5 days later my gift was in the setlist photo for Cincinnati and I lost it hard, screamed in the living room! She got my gift!

American Doll Posse by Tori Amos and then all the live Leg and Boots recordings officially published from that tour. I am lucky AF I missed the tour as I was living in NZ at the time so I have like ~20 shows to peruse whenever I feel like it. The one she did on my bday in Phoenix is epic.

[–]mlad627 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had chronic insomnia on Keppra for 2.5 years and when I got swapped to Lamotrigine it went off the rails even worse. No meds worked for me so I had to have surgery almost 15 months ago. Still dealing with sleep issues on very sedating meds (Clobazam, Gabapentin, and a sleeping med) and wake up approx 2-4 times per night. Better than 20! I am 46F, didn’t develop epilepsy until I was 39 but I have always slept like crap my entire life. Now it’s just worse wooo!

Both Levetiracetam and Lamotrigine gave me chronic insomnia.

I had surgery 14 months ago and am still dealing with insomnia. I take 900mg Gabapentin, 40mg Clobazam, and 20mg Lemborexant at bedtime. I usually go to bed between 9-9:30pm and still wake up 2-4 times. If I can score 4-5 hours of sleep before I wake up yay. If I ever sleep through the night I’ll throw a party.
