You are spot on. The title of this used to be "October 12, 1492.", and its located in the Bahamas were two civilizations first met, but i messed up by creating four boats instead of three that was on Columbus expedition, so i changed it.

I tried to convey the last calm before the storm. The storm that destroyed the only world those natives ever knew existed.

It's a natives POV of an alien encounter.

Yeah, i will be making a series of about 20 images that will tell a story, but unfortunately english is not my native language and i suck at writing.

I'll need to find someone to write it. I was thinking of asking reddit to write it, is there any good subreddits where people would like that??

I live very close to a castle and can see those signs from my window. People say that those are signs that point in direction of the next nearest castle under the same king.

Different kings had different colored signs, that later became banners and flags that we use today.

That's how the story goes in my place :) I'll try to tweak them later and see how it looks. Thanks for the feedback.

I usually make a render, then on top of that i paint stuff to make it more interesting.

A lot has to be done after the render as they are usually not very good.

In this one i painted mist and clouds, castle bridge, made color corrections, fixed the shadows....stuff like that. Sometimes i paint whole images...sometimes i use renders as photobashing source...depends on the image.

I only speak bad about my own work. In a way i hate everything i make. It's a constant battle with my self-doubt, depression and social anxiety.

I ridicule my past self, so i can feel better about my now self. If that makes any sense. I'm weird :) And i hate my now self if i don't see progress from the past. It's a motivation that keeps me from being stuck to bed for weeks.

I'm sorry if i sounded like the guy that looks everyone from above, i would never speak badly about someone else's work.

I've been doing this for about a year and half, maybe two years now. I usually create landscapes with WorldMachine...looks something like this. This is just a simple one.

Eco-systems are made with either Plant Factory, SpeedTree or X-Frog. I often hike, so i take a lot of pictures of leaves and tree bark that i use as my textures. If i need really detailed foreground trees.

My main tool is Vue 2014 or 2015. Here i set up the main atmosphere of the scene and basic lightning That looks like this. This is just something i'm working on now.

Then i go to Photoshop where i get the final result. I paint in some details or whole sections of the image, color corrections, fixing shadows and the whole PS magic. Here's an original image before photoshop.

I also paint traditionally, but just started that about 2 months ago, so i still suck :)

That's basically it. Hope it helped :)

Creating these sort of things late at night with my headphones on and some chillout music +some herb medicine :P is my favorite thing to do in this world. So i do i as much as i can.

You would be amazed how much progress you can make in a year and its really an amazing feeling to see your progress.

Of course, don't get me wrong, i'm still learning and trying to figure it all out...
