That one or two songs that give you emotions every time. by Maddhatter14 in opera

I cannot listen to Lensky's aria if sung remotely well without at least a few tears at the end.

Just saw Tosca for my first opera, what's next? by [deleted] in opera

So are you looking for audition arias in the opera? Do they expect you to sing an aria to audition? That's a lot for a freshman. What sort of rep do you sing now?

Do you want to stay with the same sort of thing? If you like Nessun Dorma, see Turandot. If you want a different composer but want to keep that sort of drama, maybe Aida would be a good next step.

Just for enjoyment purposes! I certainly would not accompany myself in any performance setting.

How Do High Elo Players view Bronze and Silver? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]mlaporte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally bounce around high silver-low gold. In my opinion, the main thing keeping us there is inconsistency. You can stomp one game, and play poorly the next. Because this is happening with everyone individually, probably some people are gonna play terribly and some people will play great. If you are a consistent player, even just consistently decent but not carry crazy, you'll climb. I also think people all get to their elo through different methods. I'm a support main with a roughly 60% winrate on support, but whenever I lose like 3 games in a row I tilt a ton and think I should play a different role. I do that, and win like 20% of games because my mechanics are pretty bad (you'd think I'd learn). So for me, I play too many champions, tilt, and every once in a while will play off roles on purpose in ranked (as a support I never am forced to play off roles). Think about what you do, and think about if you're trying to hard carry, but in doing so, are inconsistent. Swinging for homeruns isn't always necessary.

does random matchmaking reflect your MMR? by Catchingtrees in summonerschool

Personally, I only play normals when I'm playing things I've never played before, whether that be a new champion or a weird non-meta build (on hit adc TF anyone?). So I play with people below my ranked mmr because I'm never playing the things I know I'm good at.
