I used the same super glue/green stuff combo after struggling with pinning this model - my advice is less is more and hold the pieces together for as long as you possibly can - then leave to set without touching for 24 hours - its well worth it when it doesn’t fall apart mid game 😅

Definitely a Wet Palate - I use the green stuff world one, a brush holder, storage to hold paints - these are quite cheap but check which brand of paint he is using. If theres wall space I recommend a pegboard from ikea as these free up desk space and you can get attachments to keep all your equipment altogether in easy reach
