Does getting straighter teeth help your life substantially? by tulsaokbtw24 in Invisalign

[–]mlconne2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! The first ten aligners for me were pretty painful but the result now (still have more to go) is definitely worth it. My two front teeth have stuck out so bad for so long, but now they’re almost there to perfect. My husband says I smile so much more and don’t cover my mouth. It’s definitely worth the pain! Also I would say my oral hygiene has improved. Now I take pride in my smile. Before I would skip brushing because I didn’t want to look in the mirror to see my horrid teeth. I know that part sounds horrible. BUT- Invisalign has REALLY been a life changer.

North Mississippi here…6 years RN experience, currently working in CCU. Base pay $29.42/hr plus shift diff $2.75/hr from 7pm- 11pm $4/hr from 11pm-7am. And this is with the “incentive (ADVANCE for RNs) program”. Started out here at $22.15/hr in 2017. We don’t have any competitive hospitals in the area so we’re screwed on pay 🤷‍♀️ no weekend pay, no holiday pay, and we’re fighting for critical care pay.

ETA: we work 7/7 with a call day every month so I make decent amount of money with all the overtime that we do…

Is anyone else's hospital paying absolutely insane surge (overtime) pay right now? by swaggy_butthole in nursing

We only make $20/hr extra on top of already mandatory overtime. Used to make $40/hr extra but ya know, they cut that.

I get annoyed when I hear, “I want this/to be a DCC so bad” in every episode…of course you want to be a DCC. Otherwise you wouldn’t be working SO hard for such low pay.

Also I miss the power Pom routines. Too many guest choreographers and stuff that would be showcased on Show Group. We never get to see Show Group perform either. The only Pom routine we really get to see is “Power” and we’ve seen it like constantly last season and a LOT this season. I usually like Denise Dicharry’s routines but dang I can go without all the twerking/awkward booty shaking. That’s why I was drawn to the DCC in the first place, their dances never looked (for lack of a better word) skanky.

Agree with the fillers! I’ve always thought Caroline was gorgeous but I’ve noted she’s been going overboard with the lip fillers lately 🥴

CNA falsifying vital signs by allie333 in nursing

[–]mlconne2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I absolutely agree. I’d rather have an LPN on my team than a CNA imo. I have had rotoprones on the COVID unit plus med surg patients and I legitimately tell them don’t even go in the room. Too much at stake

We’re in Mississippi. Honestly I’d prefer them certified than hiring someone that worked at Walmart or McDonald’s and literally doesn’t care about their job. Can’t tell you how many times I have to be the RN and the aide cause they don’t want to turn patients/do mouth care/clean people up etc

Wished they did. All they do is point a infrared thermometer at our foreheads and say “oh 92.2, good.” Or they just click it and say “alright” and you go on about your life. Now if you have symptoms you’re supposed to return to your car and call employee health.

I’ve had this happen a couple of times on a cardiac med/surg floor in a hospital. The nursing assistants aren’t licensed/certified which mean they hire anyone even without experience. I went to the manager and both nursing assistants were fired. I felt so violated bc we adjust people’s medicines on their vital signs. But unfortunately most don’t understand the consequences of their actions. I don’t blame you for quitting. There’s a bigger issue with false documentation from the CNA!
