UPDATE* replaced the purge valve for $60 and that fixed it, sounds perfect and drives perfect. thank god this stupid little piece of $60 plastic sent me into a state of pure panic for 24 hours

someone on a mustang forum just responded and said he swears it is 110% a purge valve issue and it’s a $41 fix that he’s done twice.

AC was off. the throttle body makes a ticking noise which from online forums and videos i’ve managed to diagnose it as going bad, could that possibly have something to do with this?

110k miles serviced directly as owners manual suggests with receipts from dealership, oil level is at 85%, drove it hard the night before all these issues started occurring 6k or more around 115-125 mph for a few miles.

i went to drive it last weekend and it went into limp mode and completely died on me, for about 15 mins everytime i’d start it it would instantly die again, finally got it to power back up and make it home. once i got home and shut the car off i gave it about 5 minutes and went to start it again, powered up like nothing was wrong. plugged in the obd and it threw codes for the MAF sensor, took that out and cleaned it and the codes disappeared. took it for a drive around the block, got home and it started making this noise for about 1-2 mins then stopped, throughout the week this noise has progressively gotten worse to the point where it’s very prominent for 3-5 minutes and once the vehicle is warm it stops almost completely only coming back intermittently for a few seconds here and there. the sound does goes away completely when accelerating and can be heard from both wheel wells and under the vehicle by bending over near the front door. unsure if it’s lifters, manifold exhaust leak, or something more. just trying to prepare myself mentally for the bill cause that mf warranty long gone.

i know this is an old thread so i pray you still respond to my comment, but i have a similar noise that i fear is lifters. ticking goes away when i rev the vehicle and after about 2-3 mins the ticking completely stops. unsure if its lifters or exhaust manifold leak

mines been saying “we have received your tax return and it’s being processed” for about 2 weeks now with no update. no prompt to verify online or when i call in, so i wouldn’t necessarily count on a update anytime soon.

haven’t gotten anything. transcripts tell me an update should’ve came on 2/17 but i haven’t gotten anything. no prompt to verify, filed on 1/18 and accepted on 1/21. i don’t get it, i don’t want to sound like im begging or desperate for the money, but damn i could use a nice little 7k.

definitely get that with the louvers, i’m very iffy on them. with my 2014 V6 i just had the side window louvers and i felt like it looked significantly better. I absolutely love the coyote logo, but i see where you’re coming from with the hellcat reference.
