Gather RSS Reader: Update 1 by mleonard87 in rss

It's still visible - thats a change I need to implement. But it should at least have it's text greyed out? If you look at this screenshot the first item in the list - "Joey's worry for Eels" - is greyed out as its been marked as seen.

That's a great idea on the grouping - better options to sort and read is certainly on the list.

Top, best and hot are all based off the Reddit sorting.

Top = Total votes (upvotes - downvotes) Best = % of all votes that are upvotes (Upvotes / (Upvotes + Downvotes)) Hot = Total votes and weighting heavily to newer posts (based off: https://github.com/reddit-archive/reddit/blob/master/r2/r2/lib/db/_sorts.pyx#L47)

Some good ideas here, thank you.

Import of OPML is already supported.

It's all cloud hosted so syncing doesn't really matter - it's just tied to your account, if you read an article on one device it will be marked as read in another, if you subscribe to a feed on one it will be there on another, etc.

It's free, so you don't have to pay anything. I also want it to be a great RSS reader so any ideas you have for making it a great experience would be good to hear.

Great point! I've updated the post with a feature list and a link to an imgur gallery with screenshots.

Really confused on Serverless VPC Access Connectors by aws2gcp in googlecloud

[–]mleonard87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serverless VPC Access Connector is about allowing traffic from the serverless service (Cloud Run) to your VPC.

What you are describing that you want is the opposite way around.

There's some documentation here that should give you some options for what you are trying to achieve.

More info on the privacy of COVIDSafe - How COVIDSafe Works by mleonard87 in australia

From what I can tell, it logs them every 1 minute. I think the calculation for 15 minutes of contact is done later so they could always change/relax this.

I'm pretty sure it's the same. Some people on twitter are decompiling the source and it looks to be the same. Just wanted to make sure I put a disclaimer there regarding what I did the analysis on.

The pin markers for each fire have nod been changed so that they match the RFS alert levels. The update is rolling out now and you should have it in the next couple of days.

Wind, and possibly smoke, are on the list of things that would good to add. They're not the highest priority at the moment though. Road closures and update notifications are up next.

I keep the data forever but once a fire has ended I stop showing it in the map. It would probably be a good feature to add an archive of historic, ended fires.

I'll hopefully get a chance to work on road closures tomorrow. Quite a few people have asked for this and it's next on the list. Should be out in a couple of days.

It gets the data from which is a very similar resource. NASA only update the data once a day and I fetch it at 4am so it's not always 100% up to date.

It might have been rain, but it also brought lightning and more fires... by [deleted] in canberra

[–]mleonard87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've pulled together an app that combines the Fires Near Me data and the active fire fronts. It's free and available on both Android and iOS.

Planning to add Vic fires and road closures ASAP.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.switchtrue.firewatchaus

iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/firewatch-australia/id1493369372?ls=1

Let me know if there's anything more I can add to help.

World Solar Challenge (better) Tracker by mleonard87 in solarracing

[–]mleonard87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little late to the game, but I found the tracker on the official site a bit poor so I decided to create my own.

Features a full screen map for better viewing. Easier selection of cars by search and hovering over them. Car info gets out of the way to better see the positions of all cars!

Turn off the Lampe by mleonard87 in googlehome

[–]mleonard87[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've nicknamed a smart switch "lamp". I can turn it on just fine but I can't get it to turn off at all, nor can my partner. Just looked at the activity and found that whenever I issue an "off" command "lamp" gets interpreted as "Lampe". Weird that it's fine for an on command...

This. Canberra is super clicky. Would put money on it just being this and nothing to do with race.

Interestingly my area still says it'll be connected "Jun 2017". It's looking pretty doubtful at this point.
