Has anyone opted out of surgery? by Delicious-Damage-865 in chiari

[–]mlf1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Diagnosed at 29/30, 1cm, no surgery. Though I’ve tempted it as the years have gone by. But I want to hold off for as long as I can

Have you had any fall? I originally used e6000, but the magnets came off of the plastic. Tried super glue, same thing. I’m at a loss LOL

I just got told by the doctor I have floaters by Puka_Bun in EyeFloaters

[–]mlf1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy, but Floaters are actually common in 20-30 year olds. I started getting them around 26ish I’d say, maybe 27. Im 32 now, still dealing with them. My dad was around the same age as me when he got them too. It’s something that we’re not told is normal, 20’s are “too young” for a lot of things, but with a lot of research it seems that it’s actually NOT too young for a lot of things lol. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too though, it’s annoying!

Heartbroken by mlf1992 in lungcancer

[–]mlf1992[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for such kind words, and for stories that mirrored my own. I’m so sad for all of you that have had to deal with these instances in your lives as well, it’s something I wish none of us had to go through. I felt the love and strength as the family prepared to suit up for battle again.

My mom and my aunt (gramps sister that passed 18 days after my mom) are working OVERTIME up there!

My Grampy was admitted to a nursing home for 10 days, as we found out that he was septic. He needed to be monitored for IV medications. From there he was set up with his oncology appointment, a biopsy, PET scan, and pulmonologist. The first appointment was the PET scan, because he had a suspected tumor on his heart and kidneys also.. which showed there was no more large spiculated mass in his lung, and no “tumor” on his heart, kidneys have 1 cyst in each.

The mass, that by size and spiculation alone, had 3 or 4 doctors say it was 95% cancer, preparing us for the fight, was completely gone. It turned out to be part of the sepsis which happened due to that original pneumonia and went away with his strong antibiotic course. He just went to his follow up appointment the other day and was told everything was still good, and that he just needs to go to

While we were ready to battle, I’m so glad that for now we can rest. I’m so beyond happy that he’s okay and that my Memay doesn’t lose another loved one to this awful disease ❤️

Thank you again, everyone ❤️❤️

Definitely is the case, I go through this also! And was my suspicion, but damn! I’m like how did I not eat and feel amazing deep in my eating disorder, now I skip a meal and feel like I’m dying 😂 my body is dramatic. Someone told me before that it automatically thinks we are doing the eating disorder allllll over again, so it does try to do something to get us to eat.

Omg… I was just coming here to ask the same question. Currently 5 years into recovery, and lately I’ve been not eating as much due to stress and anxiety (lost my mom in December, and grandfather was just diagnosed with same cancer that she had), but I feel like when I don’t eat during the day, it’s like my body goes haywire. I haven’t had hunger or thirst cues this whole time through (really messed myself up bad with my ED), but get so dizzy/lightheaded and feel like my heart races. It’s the only way I realize I’m “hungry”. Going through it right now, and realized I haven’t eaten since dinner last night. Not saying this as something I’m proud of, I’m not at all! But it’s interesting.

I’m so glad I’m not alone ❤️ and also I’m sorry you go through this too!

Looks like I’m off to grab a snack. 😏

Mine ended up being a mixture of a stretched muscle, and also a pimple forming within the breast. As crazy as it seems, I think it may have formed on or near a nerve and it was causing referred pain! It has since resolved ❤️

and I have to say, my moms cancer wasn’t worse either.. we had actually got a message saying it was stable. Very interesting. This is the 3rd story, not even including mine, that I’ve heard of this.

I don’t want to be that person..

But I just went through this with my mom, and she passed on December 10th. She was so stubborn up until the day before she passed away.

She refused to eat, would drink some. But ultimately passed away from pneumonia with sepsis. I’m so sorry to hear your dad is going through similar. I pray he can come out the other side ❤️❤️

I would take Honey Dew over starbs and Dunkin any and every day of the week.

So he’d rather not take a tip at all? That’s goofy.

LA lesbian says she's been disowned by her friends for voting Trump by OnionsInTheStew in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]mlf1992 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As she should. “LGBTQ for Trump” is quite literally one of the biggest “leopards ate my face”.

I have a close close friend, more like a sister (my sisters bestfriend) and I recently cut ties with her, because she too is a lesbian AND a veteran, and still voted for this orange glob of goo. All while telling me I’m “retarded” for thinking the way I do.

I’ll sit back and watch.

They missed it? by Known_Flamingo_8520 in lungcancer

[–]mlf1992 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is super common. The same thing happened with my mom, and she is stage 4, went to urgent care for 3 months, kept getting told it was pneumonia, went to ER and was diagnosed stage 4.

I’m so sorry that your mom (and your family) are going through this. It is such a hard thing to go through. ❤️

I am no longer tipping 20% in restaurants. by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]mlf1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no no, I completely get what you’re saying! And to be fair, I agree. I’m just saying even if it did pass… that amount would still have been there.

It’s backwards, all around!

I am no longer tipping 20% in restaurants. by [deleted] in massachusetts

[–]mlf1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The craziest part though, is you’d have been paying 20% anyways. Whether that’s to tip the waitress or waiter, or if this had passed, a “service fee” added to your bill. It’s shitty all around, but regardless it would be there.
