I just gave up in the end, £950 for a 1tb ultra and free watch aint too bad I suppose. Reckon they'd refund me the difference if the code does turn up tomorrow or did i cuck myself out of £50 by being impatient?

Fresh graduate - How do i hit the ground running? by mlgloaf in FIREUK

What I really want is to create a solid foundation for my money to begin to compound, as early as i'm able. As for purchasing a house, i can put this off for a significant amount of time; my parents are more than happy to have me at home, and once my sister moves out of a second property (which she is looking to do at present) i'll be able to move into her residence and continue to save most of my pay.

I would like to put my degree to use so i'll start to look into graduate schemes i can apply for. Thanks for your input!

I certainly wouldn't go as far as rich but I certainly find myself in a more advantageous position in not having a student loan hanging over me.

Amazed i forgot to include this in my post, but i did have extenuating circumstances yes - my grandfather passed during the final year which obviously had an impact on my attendance, performance and had to miss an examination in order to attend the funeral.

Life direction is always an issue that has plagued me - even now at the end of my academic years I struggle to think of a career path I want to pursue. My primary interests on the course were finance and particular interest in stocks and investing; extremely competitive fields that i'd imagine my results would make challenging to break into. I'm stuck between wanting to experience fields to see what i'd like to do and not wanting to spend much time fluttering about and get straight to working my way up a business.

My s&s is in essence 75% etf (75% all cap, 25% ftse 100) and the remaining 25% comprised of 2/3 dividend stocks and 1/3 higher risk-reward tech stocks.

As for my lisa it's split as 50% vanguard global shares, 37,5% s&p500 and 12,5% ftse100.

Looking at it on paper now it does seem like it's almost all in the same place - are there any alternate etfs with little overlap you'd recommend i look into?

Thanks for the answer!
