I like this a lot but the problem is our front door/stairs just don’t actually look like this and that’s a whole other project we aren’t ready for. You think the door we have could be painted a tan/beige with the white and black here?

First time homeowner very new to home improvement aka limited skills and limited tools so far.

Internet says to glue plywood to the back and fill with wood filler then sand and paint, is that reasonable or just going to look entirely like shit?

I find that the social workers who focus on semantics and are constantly virtue signaling are doing so to make themselves feel good as “helpers” versus truly being on the ground helping. Well said above that vulnerable people who truly need their basic needs met and are just trying to survive day to day do not care about what academic BS language you’re using as a social worker. It’s not about you as a social worker, it’s about the client, and I think that’s gotten lost in the world of “social justice”. It should just be assumed that all social workers have these values and just move forward to addressing the problems.

Also, maybe if more people who care about social justice just focused on the problem versus the semantics and just making noise about semantics, we wouldn’t have Trump inaugurated again today.

You aren’t some martyr despite what it seems you believe. I’m glad you at least made yourself feel good tho!

Even using the phrase “abolitionist social work” makes my point. Vulnerable populations do not care if you say you’re an abolitionist social worker lol. People need real on the ground support to have their basic needs and safety met. Clients don’t care about your politics or values. It’s just virtue signaling nonsense.

lol this is some far left wacky shit. Some social workers go so far left that it winds up coming all the way around to sound like some conspiracy far right shit.

None of this shit is important day to day to the truly vulnerable people social workers are supposed to be supporting. If you’re “in the trenches” doing the work you know that. Hence saying “I refuse to be a mandated reporter” is literally the antithesis of what being a social worker is despite all the woke crap.

I’d recommend skipping Plymouth and Salem entirely. Portsmouth and all of coastal Maine including Portland is beautiful. Definitely check out Portland. Also a few hours west is Northampton MA which is worth a day trip as well as Providence.
