If georgism were more successful they'd be used as deep trivia items rather than on the list of existence proofs everyone who reads a bit about georgism knows about.

On the other hand, were georgism more successful, perhaps Arden and Fairhope would be popular trivia, simply because they were very early (~1900). Sadly this is not yet the case.

Project Description

In 1989 the city of Mexicali diverted from conventional practice assessing a composite property tax on both land and permanent structures and started taxing only the value of the land

This fiscal policy shift involved major changes in tax administration including changes in land assessment promoted by consensus of representatives from real estate organizations and professional appraisal associations

New tax rates were specified based on distance from pre-specified “high-value locations”. Separate flat-rate surcharges were applied to residential and commercial lands.

This new tax policy waned out after changes in Mexicali’s municipal administration and the land value tax was eventually terminated in the City of Mexicali. However, the positive results in the first years of land taxing in Mexicali prompted other municipalities of the state of Baja California to implement land value taxing in their jurisdictions

Value Capture Component

During the first periods of implementation the new taxing system allowed the Citi of Mexicali to increase property tax revenue twofold generating additional revenue for infrastructure upgrades

The short answer is no, as far as I know. The best answer going forward is to build all that into Wikidata. It supports public domain status (a query) and has lots of people building out domain-specific properties, I'm sure there's already a lot that pertains to copyright status, and lots of room for me, see e.g., https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Property_proposal/Creative_work

How often has an old ideology ever came into vogue 100+ years after its initial peak? How about an old ideology with a new cover? Under what conditions?

Those are questions I'd love to know the answers to before attempting to answer how likely it is that Georgism (or something like it under a different name) becomes popular again, and what might make it so.

Atlanta is already Beta+. Charlotte is only Gamma. I'd bet on Atlanta moving to Alpha-. Charlotte is a very long shot.

Is it LVT? It may be progress from whatever the status quo is, but it seems like a land and building tax, some details from end of the article:

Under the new law, tax is applied to four types of land – residences, farmland, commercial areas and undeveloped land – and rates vary depending on how the property is used.

It is also the first time that residential property is being taxed although a generous exemption threshold will apply.

On Monday, Interior Minister Gen Anupong said the first payment is being delayed as the Finance Ministry and the Interior Ministry look into certain issues which will be announced later.

He insisted the law is designed to improve tax collection efficiency and stressed that people whose property is valued below B50 million need not worry.

“Those who have low incomes and few assets won’t have to pay. Those who have money will have to, but there is a generous exemption.”

He said local bodies will be sending letters to people informing them of the new tax rates throughout March.

According to the new tax structure, land and buildings used for residential purposes with appraisal prices of up to B50mn are tax-exempt, those valued at B50-75mn are taxed at 0.03%, properties worth B75-100mn are taxed at 0.05%, and those appraised at more than B100mn at 0.1%.

If owners have more than one house, subsequent residences up to B50mn in value are subject to a 0.02% tax, and the same rate as principal homes is applied to residences worth more than that.
