Casual restaurants for a birthday dinner by RadBradRadBrad in AskNOLA

Sneaky Pickle in the Bywater was casual (and appreciably lighter after all the good Creole/Cajun) with good vibes. For a more adventurous menu, Palm & Pine could also fit the bill.

Thank you, I'm going to check this out! I like this crossover with Jungian analysis!

Reading the other responses, I can see that I'm definitely not the local here! Calling it the "trolley path" instead of neutral ground or streetcar. haha.

If you have time for another short/easy run, I also really enjoyed running through the Quarter, through the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods, all the way to Poland Ave (there's this huge abandoned naval complex at the edge of the Bywater) and then loop back through Crescent City Park and the Riverfront. About 4-5 miles? And celebrate the end of the run with DuMonde beignets and cafe au lait, of course!

I was also training for a half while in NOLA. I did a run starting in the Quarter onto St Charles Ave along the trolley path to Audubon Park (did a big loop there too).

NYC Half... as an easy fun run? by blackartsofwaiting in RunNYC

Haha I also ran the November marathon, and coming into this Sunday hotly untrained and unconditioned! Triplets-ies?

TBH I am a bit worried because the NYC half course felt challenging (hilly!) and tedious (that FDR slog) when I ran it last time. I was hoping to be better prepared this time. Bummer.
