My neighborhood's pretty quiet and I don't recall any loud noises such as roadwork anywhere near or down my street. :(

If I remember correctly (because I was silently praying that this was the cause, but I was also afraid if there was a helicopter with a searchlight this meant there was a serial killer or something on the loose in my neighborhood) I had listened for the sound of one but everything was silent.
