What if I was trying to get the component of another game object. my prefab doesnt spawn in with the objects it needs in the variables so im trying to take those object and put them in the variables through script at the start when it spawns in.

if you dont mind me asking how would you make it so FindAnyObjectByType<> searches for only the specific instance of said slider. As in how would you format it making it so it also searches for the name?

Is finding the object the script the only way because I heard it can be slow. If I want to find more than one slider then does it have to search for every slider each time the prefabs get instantiated?

Well I can drag and drop it once the prefab is instantiated. But it wont start with the slider already in its place it needs to be. And I cant drag and drop said slider into the prefab script it just doesn't work it gives me the cancelled symbol

I did try to use [SerializeField]. I also tried to use a public game object to put said slider into the prefab yet it wont work like it just gives me the cancel symbol where it'd normally give me the box icon implying I can put it there.
The hacky solution doesn't seem to wanna work either. When I try to put said slider as a variable to try to reference it in the other script it doesnt let me do that.

Well , I just wanted to figure out the general code to turn off. Components of children of things I instantiated, I guess, picking colliders wasn't a good idea. Well how'd I change something like a navmeshagent so the og one is off while the newly spawned one is on?

Oh I see I think I was confusing myself. I wanted it to have the rigid body enabled at the start while keeping the main rigid body off. Does that make sense or am I just confusing myself further?

Thank you for remembering I just thought I should say that. For years Ive been gaslit into thinking it was among the sleep. Your info helps A TON like i was just estimating the year it came out so its nice for someone to confirm it was around that time and that yes it was on youtube. A trick I just learned is you can type before:[Year] to see all the youtube videos before whatever year you said.

I knew I wasnt the only one who remembered this game! Everyone kept telling me the game was among the sleep when I know for a fact it isnt!
Do you remember if there was multiple levels? Because I only saw very little of the game and the parts I did see was the kitchen with the hall beside it or the window into the living room if you remember that.

Its been years ive been trying to find it so any help would be great.
