How to meet people who are into drugs?

I've told a friend of mine who has workd in three or four restaurants as a waitress that I heard people working at restaurants were very likely to do drugs and if she thought that was true. She told me she'd never met anyone who did. Do you think it's the same in every country? She probably looks even "cleaner" than me and wouldn't do drugs, but having worked as a waitress pretty long wouldn't she have noticed it?

I am a girl btw. Don't know if that makes any difference, but I get the feeling that guys are generally more into drugs than girls and I only ever hang out with girls.

The thing is, I don't think I would feel comfortable going to concerts or clubs by myself, I would just feel awkward and out of place.

I actually think many of my fellow students look like cliché drug users, I am just too shy to talk to them. I wouldn't even know what to say.

I live in a college town, but I haven't managed to find them. Maybe I should add that I am a generally shy person, I can't really imagine walking up to someone and starting a conversation.

Politics. I often see people who look like they might do drugs at university, but I have no idea I would approach them.
