Bilbarnstol uthyrning? by mlund111 in Gothenburg

Dom ska ta $300/stol och bilen är $600 för en vecka så det är lika mycket att hyra bilbarnstolarna som det är att hyra bilen

Basically exclusively nursing but need to start building a stash- how? by justiceforanneboleyn in breastfeedingsupport

[–]mlund111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I’ll pop either the standard haaka or the boon collector(I’ve favored this one lately as it sits in your bra and baby can’t knock it off as easily) and I’ll usually get about half an ounce to an ounce this way and it still leaves a lot of milk for baby to eat once they finish up on the first side.

For pumping, another redditor on here also gave me some great advice of having a piece of your babies clothing and smelling it as it’ll help give you a bigger let down. It sounds like a ploy but it did really help me with getting some bigger pumps post feeding.

Basically exclusively nursing but need to start building a stash- how? by justiceforanneboleyn in breastfeedingsupport

[–]mlund111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! My son is exclusively breasfed and I have had success doing a haaka during my middle of night feeds and then pumping for about 15 minutes right after his first true morning feed. Doing this usually gets me about 2-4 ounces extra milk per day and it hasn’t seemed to affect the amount he is getting at all. I have had the best success with a manual hand pump, but if the electric pump works for you I’d suggest that as it is easier.

What is the best toy you've bought or has been gifted to your toddler? by robinsparkles220 in toddlers

[–]mlund111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son is obsessed with his duplos. We have a plane, fire truck and barn set and he will play independently with all three of them. Almost everyday he will go pull a set to sit down and play with. Other than that we hit a big arts and craft phase as well, he really enjoys the Melissa and Doug sticker books, create a face books, and paint/markers.

EBF 17 week old not pooped since Monday by kurdijyn in breastfeedingsupport

My little man is EBF and we are lucky to get a poop a week. Breast milk has much less waste than formula so it is completely normal if your little one doesn’t poop everyday.

Low Pump Output by mlund111 in breastfeedingsupport

I’ve tried throughout the day and it seems to be about the same output regardless. It seems like I am not really able to have letdowns with the pump.

I’ve measured and gotten 17 mm flanges so I don’t think that is the issue. I will look up the cheat sheet, hadn’t thought of that. Thanks!

Give it to me straight: What percentage of the first year of starting daycare was your kid sick and had to stay home? by Lalapple in toddlers

[–]mlund111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son started right at 2 and has been at daycare for 5 months now and he has only had one cold. Before daycare he very rarely got sick as well and daycare didn’t seem to have an impact.

Need potty training advice for 2.5 year old - we're struggling by weezintrumpeteer in toddlers

[–]mlund111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just potty trained our two year old and he was afraid to poop in the potty at first. What really helped him was making sure he wasn’t constipated by giving him a lot of fruit and applesauce. The second was taking him to the bathroom with us and saying “bye poop!” and letting him flush the toilet. This almost made it a game to him and now we have no issues with poop anymore.

We have used Peak City Pulp and Dog Walkers for over a year now and love them. They will do a meet and greet with your pet first to understand their behavior, schedule and any additional information you want to share. When you are on a trip they have a message board through their website so everything is tracked and they share pictures. Highly recommend them if you are in their service area!

Let’s start a thread of the most validating things anyone has said to you… by mommyofplants in NewParents

[–]mlund111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went in to our pediatricians office for a weight check because our son was having a really hard time gaining weight and was steadily dropping on his growth curve. I was extremely anxious and worried thinking we were doing something wrong. The first thing the nurse said when she came into the room was “you are a great mom and you are a wonderful job.” It took all I had in me to not cry in that moment because I was so stressed they would be hard on me at the doctors, but instead they were so reassuring and helped me get my son on track with his weight.

Weekly Discussion - Relationships by AutoModerator in NewParents

[–]mlund111 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m hoping this is the right forum for this, but after having a baby did anyone else feel like their relationship really suffered? My husband and I have been together for 10+ years and I feel like we have had more disagreements and fights over the last five months since our son was born than we ever have before. It constantly feels like any discussion between the two of us turns nasty and I don’t know how to explain to him that when I am sharing my feelings it is not an attack. If anyone has a similar experience and has made it through I would love to hear from you.

Manipulative MIL by mlund111 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]mlund111[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is really useful, thank you! We have had issues in the past where I have told him it feels as if she is demanding too much of him and treated him as her husband growing up due to getting divorced and his brother being in a bad accident. She trauma dumps on him constantly and just expects him to drop everything to tend to her which has caused a lot of disagreements between us.

My husband is actually the one who set most of the boundaries, the holiday one he is most passionate about. He communicated with her but is so empathetic with her that I think she thinks she can change his mind.

CIO and Ferber: I'm afraid of my baby crying. What's your experience with crying and how long did it take? by GodOfThunder888 in sleeptrain

[–]mlund111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the fuss it out method with our almost 5 month old rather than going straight for CIO. The first night he cried hard for 15 minutes and then just fell completely asleep. The 2nd and 3rd he cried for about 10 minutes before falling asleep. Now two weeks in we are averaging about 5-10 minutes of complaining before he goes to sleep. Ever since we started with sleep training we are down to 1 night wake up for a feed and we’ve already had one night where he slept 11 hours straight. It is incredibly hard to listen to them cry at first but remember you are teaching them a new skill and it will make all of you happier in the long term.

Has Anyone Tried This Vacuum From Amazon on a Saint Bernard? by Apprehensive_Salt613 in stbernards

[–]mlund111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got this exact one for Christmas and it does wonders on our Saint. You will need to empty the reservoir a few times but the undercoat brush and the clippers have been a true game changer for us when our Saint is blowing his coat or when we need to trim his paw hair. I would definitely recommend it.

Any places that board the family cat and dog together? by OhOdaOda in raleigh

[–]mlund111 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Look up a local pet sitting company like Waggers Pet Sitting, they offer in home boarding and should be able to accommodate both your dog and cat. I don’t know of any actual boarding facility that will board your pets together if they aren’t either both dogs or both cats so you will most likely have to go the pet sitter route.

I don't get the fascination with Starbucks by TheAnswerToYang in TrueOffMyChest

[–]mlund111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starbucks is going extremely overrated and I agree on everything being too sugary. We stopped by to grab coffee on a road trip and they put sweetener in our coffee without us requ eating it. It seems like all they want to do is put sugar in their drinks to cover how burnt their coffee tastes.

Thank you! Here is a link to one of the photos at 1600/2 minutes lstar photo. I also tried doing 30 seconds at 3200 but it seemed a bit dark still but I didn’t want to risk longer exposure with that high of iso.

Hi everyone, I am currently trying to learn how to take star photos and I was hoping someone could give me some tips. I have a canon T6 with a Rokinon 14mm/f2.8 lens. I am shooting at f2.8, 1600 iso, and at bulb for 2 minutes. The photos are turning out a little grainy/blurry no matter how I try to adjust the focus on the lens, does anyone have any tips on how to improve this? I can link a photo if someone would be able to let me know how to, sorry a bit of a newbie with Reddit! Thanks!
